Video from Alaska Independence Party could put Palin on the defensive
The excerpts the reporter refers to are about 6:15 or so into the video. This needs to be on the national news...secessionists saying Palin is sympathetic to the cause and inflitrated the GOP.

1. But wait... There's more. And they talk about getting violent...

That page only shows Part One of the video. I looked up Part Two on YouTube. The guy goes on to call the US government a "monster" and says that they need to move forward with their plans in order to "avoid violence." He says they identify themselves not as Americans, but as Alaskans.

And yeah, their stated goals are to infiltrate both parties. Quite a group of folks.

3. Not that it will get noticed, but I sent it to Morning Joe...

When Joe was asking why Palin is so popular among the meat-and-potatoes midwesterners, I couldn't help myself. I passed along an email with links to both parts of that video and the observation that Palin is popular because those folks don't know she was a part of this group that calls the American government "a monster," suggests violence, and identifies itself as Alaskan but not American.

Hard to believe that Ayers gets all this airtime but a deliberate membership in a group that hates America is being completely ignored.

4. oh, dear... good luck with that!
But it sure never hurts to try. If the video could be edited into a media-friendly soundbite-- something that could fit neatly into a cable news segment, it would stand a better chance. Not only do we have to cut up the food into bite-sized pieces, we have to chew it for them.

11. You're right, of course. But there's only so much spoon feeding I can do...

I'd think they'd love some excerpts from that video. Calling the US government "a monster," talking about taking action before violence breaks out, talking about infiltrating the major parties with radical activists... This is the sort of thing they love hashing over and over again.

Obama has been campaigning for years and they still like to repeat, "How much do we know about him?" Palin has been around for two months in a hermetically sealed container. The little we know is that she's being investigated for a crime, she's followed the Cheney model of circumventing and ignoring subpoenas, and she's been "Palining around" with radicals involved in an active campaign to place activists in high government positions.

Then again, those resume items at least suggest more accomplishments than being a member of the PTA.

5. I'm glad Keith Olbermann brought this up last night.
I hope this story picks up momentum. The AIP are traitors. Pure and simple.

8. Palin's political roots are in the anti-American Alaska Independence Party!!
She really is throwing stones in a glass house.
Obama put education above politics to try to help some children. Palin put politics above her Country.

12. Lynette and Dexter Clark are my Sister and Brother in Law..
But we've been feuding for a few years now, so I have no contact with them.

I can tell you that they are decent people, just delusional. I believe that they at a splinter faction and have no real power.

The AIP is considered a JOKE in Alaska, I lived there for 12 years and even mined gold with the Clarks for two summers.

While I hope that this somehow brings down Palin, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to these folks.

They got nothin', and the AIP is going nowhere.

(BTW, I was Never a member, but spent some time around these people - it's pretty nutty, and not to be taken seriously to be honest.)
