Palin Clearwater rally crowd estimate: 4,500, GOP says 20,000
10:15 a.m.

Clearwater police tally up the numbers: Two people ejected, nobody arrested. Five reports of heat-related medical issues, none serious. They estimate the crowd at 4,500, though local GOP officials say there were more.

local crazy lady hits the mike:

8:15 a.m.

Palm Harbor neighbors Susanne Edson and Lori Horne are dressed in matching T-shirts with Palin's face on them. Edson, 57, says Barack Obama is one of the most radical left politicians in the government: "He's put on a white mask and he's not presenting himself as he really is.''

MyFox Tampa Bay headline?

Palin rally brings 20,000 to Clearwater

...

Republican Party officials say they have distributed 20,000 free tickets to today's event.

The rally could cause traffic tie-ups in downtown Clearwater this morning. Fort Harrison Avenue is closed near the park, along with Cleveland and Drew streets. However, a free shuttle is running between Jack Russell Stadium and the park until noon.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama's running mate will also greet supporters at the Sun Dome at USF in Tampa Wednesday. The campaign is calling it a "community gathering" in which Sen. Joe Biden will discuss America's current economic crisis and what is at stake for the country's economic future.

Did you catch that? The GOP distributed 20,000 tickets... to the shredder, apparently.

25. Same rally? That's what I assumed
Also, Dana Milbank at WaPo says it was only "about 3,000" people at that rally.

3. The GOP included the cars that drove by and laughed in their 20000
It's nice to see that Susanne Edson was able to get away from her Aryan-sisterhood meeting to attend the rally and get an interview where she could throw in her racist slurs

5. I'm starting to think that lying to them is like breathing to us.
Any crowd pictures?
Someone that was there and posted on a blog had mentioned that they had moved everyone to one side for pictures. The place normally holds about 10,000 is the understandig that I got..and it was a bit less than 1/2 full.

12. There are only 2 pics posted at daylife, and one of them is
her with Joe LIEberman, The other one, she is in the middle of some people, and you can't see the crowd. I find this highly suspicious, because at all her other events there are many pics. She's also dropped to #5 on that site, so that's interesting as well.

I did find this pic on the internet from the event, but not too telling....

15. Palin was only preachin' to the choir
According to Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who was a quest on Rachel Maddow's show last night, Palin is ONLY being sent to districts that are, and have been 100% republican strongholds for years. Districts that have no Democrat representation at all.

Did anyone SEE a photo containting 20,000 people? I would quess that if there were such a photo, the pubs would have publicized it highly.

22. And not just in Florida
The McFuckedandheknowsit campaign is only sending Palin to the safe zones where adoring crowds of republican faithful are all but guaranteed to slither out from under their rocks to worship at her feet.

24. So 15,500 were smart enough
to throw the tickets away.

That says A LOT about the good people of FL.. especially since Rachel Maddow said last night that they're only allowing Palin to talk in REALLY RED REPUBLICAN towns and areas. They don't want her to have to face hecklers or questions... :eyes: 'Cause Presidents never have to actually encounter people who oppose them.

If crowd numbers are less than 5,000, inflate by 2.1 times, regardless of event container's ability to hold that many people.

32. The MSNBC morning crew is propping Palin up every morning..
this morning they were talking abuot how her popularity just keeps growing and it will likely push more voters towards McCain, meanwhile on the crawl at the bottom of the screen, it said Palin's negative numbers had risen to 37%.
