Neal Newhouse Republican Pollster on MSNBC
He made a ton of sense a few minutes ago.

HE basically said if McCain comes out tonight and talks about ANYTHING besides the economy it will backfire with voters. He was pointing to new data that shows that the Right Track/Wrong Track poll has only 12% of Americans thinking we are on the Right Track.

He said it would be a bad decision to talk about anything besides the economy. Let's hope he comes out and talks about everything except the economy.

Obama needs to hammer the two lines "Fundamentals of economy are strong..." and "We are turning the page on the economy..." heavily.

1. Barack's good with timelines: Gramps says "X" 28 hours before a NYTimes headline
stating the opposite.

I hope he keeps doing just that: Gramps is out of touch, period.

2. Oh, it's fine if he talks about the economy. He faces damned if you do, damned if you don't,.
As his campaign spokesperson said, if he talks about the economy, he will lose. But if he talks about anything but the economy, he will lose.

Poor baby! ;-)

3. Besides not only being the right strategy I am sure that McCain's
handlers have told him to stay away from anything personal for the simple reason that McCain cannot control his emotions.

I am sure that Obama would love for McCain to go personal.

4. Obama needs to connect McCain to the Bush Induced Economic Collapse...
... and reinforce that McCain pushed for deregulation of the banking industry and voted with Bush 90% of the time.

That line of attacks will be lethal.
