Great idea. No way to know, but I trust most people here!!!

Right on!

As a Dean supporter, I support that idea, kudos!!!

*Meaning I'll do the same in the Dean direction. If that makes sense.*

Nice productive direction
for gloating (and other not so civil behavior)... that channels into a positive Beat Bush! direction. I like it! While it could never be DU policy (legally speaking) it could become part of the DU culture - that is WE call each other on it and remind the 'pay for gloating to help defeat bush!' fund (as heavy gloating would likely occur after a nominee had been established - and thus every dollar to the campain - is a dollar to beat bush!)

We will not see Karl "Butterfly" Rove sitting in a redwood for years to save old growth forests from being cut down.

However, that's as likely as you not seeing gloating happen here.

10. Well See, That's My Point !!!
From what I remember :smoke: , at some point the nominee will either become obvious (it ain't yet, by a long shot) or determined at convention, and then...

From what I recall, anybody here attacking a fellow Dem then, will be warned, or asked to leave. Just thought, if I'm recollecting correctly, that we might not wanna make it worse before it gets better.

ABB... STILL!!!

12. I don't see
how gloating over a win is going to be somehow worse than the nasty fighting going on right now, before the votes.

Once it is over and a winner is declared, there will be nothing to argue about on a "gloat thread". Maybe if you are on the losing side you can taunt that the other guy will lose the GE, but if he won the primaries, he won, it's over. All you can do is ignore those threads, really.

20. Should my guy win the nomination
I will be extremely low key about it. I know that there are large numbers of people on this board with a deep emotional investment in their candidate, and that feelings here will be very raw. I don't want to do anything to exacerbate that. I will treat other people the same way that I would want them to treat me.

22. I Could Go For It
Of the candidates that have a realistic chance of being the nominee, I could easily be enthused about any of them (assuming Lieberman isn't in this category). While I do have my favorite, I think any of those candidates would be superior to what we have now. Hell, the thing my cat just horked up could do a better job.

Can we gloat like hell when a Democrat is back in the White House?

Chance of not gloating? Zero.

A bunch of us have put up with FAR MORE THAN OUR
DESERVED RATION OF SHIT
day after day after day after
day, so when our candidate not only receives the nomination,
but goes on to kick Shrub's ass right back to the Lyin' W Ranch
in Crawford, I'm planning on doing a WHOLE TEXAS-SIZED
HEAP
of gloating.

And a lot of folks will deserve it.

Of course, they'll mostly have left (headed back to their more-
usual Right Wing stomping grounds) the day their candidate
fails to win the nomination, so maybe I won't really need to gloat.

Gloating is less than some people here will deserve. I'll make hundred dollar contributions for every time Dean visits the house of a DU Dean Opponent and laughs in their face, if Dean wins.

31. Unfortunately, I've seen too much gloating going on so far.
So I don't hopes for the future in that regard, depending on who wins the nom. And you can guess who I'm speaking of.

I've not seen gloaters for Clark, Kerry, Gephardt, Edwards, or Kucinich or Sharpton or Braun.

Actually, gloating to a certain extent is okay w/me. But kicking the other candidates when they're down is bad form and not playing nice with others in the group. I don't vote for those who kick others when they're down.

Whatever!

Don't vote forme, I'm not running. But the way I've been treated here, it makes my heart smile to get the chance to shove it right back in their faces.

I will not gloat to anyone who has been reasonable, fair, or respectful if my guy wins. But I vow to not let some of the people here get away with how they've treated other people, other candidates, and the political process.

The people here who have made a living out of opposing candidates deserve the gloating no matter who wins. It's come from almost EVERY side.

37. After the nomination
as per DU rules, there will be no attacks whatsoever on the Democratic candidate - I'm assuming that means gloating over the losers as well. At least, I would hope it would. At any rate, after the nomination is in, won't we have bigger fish to fry? What exactly would be the point of gloating other than to be a total asshole?
