GOP/McCain/Palin's Strategy is Straight Out of Rush's and Hannity's Playbooks
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 03:08 PM by Emit
The racist Hannity must be so proud of himself. The current crap that Palin is spewing (see, among numerous threads on the subject: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7346702 ) is the same crap Hannity and Rush (Hannity more so, though) have been repeating over and over and over again to incite fear, prejudice and rage amongst their listeners for a long time now.

We knew back in April that George Stephanopoulos was taking notes from Hannity in preparation for the debates back during the primaries. Hannity was so proud of himself for this. Imagine how excited Hannity and Rush are now that Palin is repeating their own talking points!

George Stephanopoulos Taking Notes From Sean Hannity for Tomorrow Night's Debates
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 10:03 PM by Emit
George Stephanopoulos was just on the Sean Hannity Radio show getting all chummy with Hannity. George told Hannity that Hannity was "absolutely right" that Obama has tarnished his image as a uniter when he "pandered to the elite San Francisco crowd about the blue collar Pennsylvania workers" (summation of George's comments, not an exact quote, but close).

Hannity asked George what kinds of questions they'll be asking at the debate tomorrow and they discussed a few things. When Hannity asked about the first question below about Ayers and whether George had plans to ask such a question, George replied, "Well, I'm taking notes now Sean." It did actually sound like he was pausing to take notes. And Hannity continued to feed him more:

1) Ask Obama about his relationship with Ayers and WeatherUnderground and Axelrod's comments, "They're friendly"

2) Ask Obama why he attended the Million Man March

Let's see if George takes Hannity's advice on this. More collaboration with Fox News. Hmmmm....

Palin unleashed, however, shows a desperate attempt on the GOP's part to go to this level - they have nothing else but to go to their wacko right wing nuts' playbooks. In fact, word has it that Rush had been very instrumental in shining the search light on Palin as a VP running mate (he and some college Republican who had a website encouraging Rush, Hannity, et al listeners to call Rick Davis to recruit Palin).

They are racist - they are nuts and scary and their nuttiness and scariness are coming through loud and clear. When folks in their crowds start yelling "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!", the McCain campaign needs to be called out on it. It is McCain's responsibility to put a stop to this, otherwise, he is ultimately responsible for inciting hate, rage and violence. David Schuster was on the Ed Schultz show today, and he said that he will have a McCain representative on his show today to discuss this very matter. I do not get cable, but I am curious what the McCain spokes people and McCain himself have to say about this all.

They are so desperate; they had no where else to go but where Hannity and Rush have wanted them to be all along - in the gutter, showing their true colors. And they seem to need no help in getting there.

This will backfire on them with the average viewer, imho. The more outrageous their audience, the more extreme they appear to the average voter, to worse it's gonna get for them.

1. Palin couldn't 'strategize' if she wanted to. Title SHOULD be "McCain's Strategy is to..." n/t

2. Ultimately, it is McCain's strategy, but Palin is the one they've unleashed to do the dirty work
and really, my point is that the strategy they are using belongs to the extreme nuts Hannity and Rush - which goes to show how desperate they all are now.
