I've got a friend who claims Bush should be re-elected for 2 reasons.

1. America is safer with Saddam out of power.
-I've told him that our war in Iraq has given us new enemies and given terrorist new
reason to dislike us. I also pointed out that had we not gone Iraq without the help of the UN we would have saved billions of dollars and thousands of lives.
He says that we would have risked the lives of hundreds of thousands of americans (see next point)

2. We did find WMD: He says we found 4 or 5 bombs capable of killing 100,000 people.
??? I'm not sure what the hell he's talking about ???
I told him that the Bush administration has even admitted we may not find WMD, but I can't find a good source with this info.

2. Sorry, you're outa of luck, your "friend is nuts"

US forces have found caches of weapons probably left over from the first Iraq war. But nothing has proved Saddam had viable "Weapons of Mass Destruction." Tell your friend to "prove it." And start hanging around with more lucid folk.

being president is that it's a scarry world.

Doesn't that kind of president sort of have a vested interest in making sure the world is scarry?

If he's really worried about only his safety, he should vote for a president who has a vested interest in making sure the world ISN'T a scarry world and only wants to be measured by whether you feel healthier, wealthier and wiser after his term is over.

8. he's a good friend... but he's been working at a CC radio station and ...

We never really spoke politics much, but this year it became very clear to me that he was a big Bush supporter.

I try not to talk about politics much with him, but we got into tonight.

I asked what would be different if we hadn't invaded Iraq. How would our lives be different and he's 100% convinced we wouldn't be as safe.

He says we did find WMD he heard it on his airwaves. He remembers the stories, but yet he can produce no facts. He says we found 4 or 5 bombs capable of killing 100,000 people. I told him that the Bush administration (Kay) has said we won't find WMD. He laughed... Kay?!!! ... like the guy is a nut or not to be trusted.

I can't get him to see F 9/11.

I think some of the others are right... his mind is made up and not likely to change.

What I don't get is why so many freepers feel our War with Iraq was so necessary. What would it have hurt to wait 2 months or even 12 months in order to get the UN to assist?

I asked him that and he said we'd only be giving Saddam 2 months or 12 months to attack us. Of course...we have no evidence that SH was going to attack us or had the means to attack us.

Luckily I only have 2 friends who are freepers. The rest of my friends are all much more liberal or at least more open minded.

7. If your friend is that stupid, let him take his dumb ass over to Iraq and

save his country. What a punk that guy is for not doing that. Doesn't he have a mom and sister who would be harmed by the evil doers?

Who but a coward would not take up arms agaisnt a known enemy to save his own family?

Challenge the sorry bastard to to just that. If he squirms then tell him to at least join the Texas National Guard, like his idol, Chimpy did in order to dodge combat in 'nam.
