Palin Supporter Calls Man "Uppity Negro"
Palin Supporter Calls African American Sound Man An "Uppity Negro"
By Greg Sargent - October 7, 2008, 4:00PM

As I noted below, in his piece today about the abuse that Palin supporters heaped on reporters at a Florida rally yesterday, WaPo's Dana Milbank wrote that one supporter had hurled an unspecified racial epithet at an African American sound man before saying, "sit down, boy."

A reporter who was there tells me what that unspecified epithet was: "Uppity negro."

1. Well as many times as it has been implied during this campaign season...
I don't see how anyone could be surprised by this garbage.

Sad, sure. But surprised? Open your eyes, folks.

2. I'm thrilled to see the Republican base revealing itself.
I'm not thrilled that they feel that way, quite the opposite, but I'm certainly glad that the world can now see them for what they truly are.

11. Often the truth doesn't really come out until you put a caption under the picture.
But it doesn't appear that the Obama campaign will pick up on it. Back when Pat Buchanan was running for president some Jewish activists went to New Hampshire to protest him and at the rally the fascist crowd shouted at them things like "Hitler should have finished you off!" Look at Buchanan now. He's a "respected" talking head. But I don't think the Obama campaign has the inclination to nail McCain-Palin on this.

3. So is Palin heading Political Rallies
or Klan Rallies?

I really hope this Trooper-Gate thing brings her down in Alaska, and that this horrid person is never heard from again after this election

4. Any money he didn't say 'Negro'.
This needs to be front page, every day, all day until election. THIS is what the repig party is all about. The ignorant in this country need to know who they are voting for. THIS is who the ignorant are choosing to associate themselves with? THIS is who the ignorant are looking up to? THESE are your heroes?

They are not good and decent people. They have neither honor nor integrity. They turn my stomach.

6. She's wearing white frocks
at rallies in the South. Well after labor day. She's baitng the crowd and getting the reaction she wants. The message is clear, and it is intended. Frankly, I can not believe she and the Republican Party are doing this. Of course, I first heard of McCain when he was ranting against the establishment of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a national holiday, so this is his territory from way back.

16. I didn't think I could get sicker about this campaign.
But seeing Palin in all white, sans hood, at a rally inciting violence against a senator and presidential candidate is just about as far fascist as you can get.

How disgusting...and sad. I just don't see how anyone of sane and not-bigoted mind could be a Republican now and actually be PROUD of it. Not saying all of them are like this--I know from personal experience that not all of them are--but unfortunately for them, the loudest, most vocal ones are indeed racists/bigots and thus fulfill all the stereotypes about their party.

I think McSame should be made to publically denounce this sort of behavior in much the same way Obama had to denounce Wright and Farrakhan...it's only fair. Hell, I'm in Arizona, so if he brings his ass back here at any point before the election (which he just might have to if he doesn't start building a stronger lead here, in his own damn state.), I'll fuckin' go to one of these little town hall meetings of his and ask him this question my damn self. I'd probably get kicked out or ambushed by all the McSame and Palinites, but it would be worth it for the chance to expose him like that...:D

23. If this happens, you have yourself a deal! *thumbsup* I want him to know...
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 05:02 PM by latte_liberal_86
that just because he 'represents' (though really, what has he done for it?) our state, he's not ENTITLED to our vote. (and for the record, I voted for that other guy in the last race of his..I think in '04? lol). I think he could be in for a very big surprise come Nov. 4th here if Pima county (where I am) is anything to go by...; AZ only went very narrowly for Bush the last time around and would probably more readily go blue if McSame wasn't from here (though judging by how narrowly he squeaked by here in his primary and the fact that it's only single digits between him and Obama here right now, it's not impossible..) and I'd be willing to bet that *when* Obama goes up for re-election in '12, he'd probably take it or have an even better shot at doing so..:D

Who is really uppity...
In proper usage, the word uppity indicates someone who forgets their place meaning their "station in life" and I don't know about the young man at the rally but I do know about Sarah Palin and cheap white trailer trash running for vice-president is uppity. Really uppity.
