"Town Hall" means plants will ask the questions.
This might be a great opportunity. Instead of a moderator who would ask "safe" questions, a plant will ask stupid obvious questions.

1. Yes. Someone will want each man to explain how their tax plan will affect such person.
"My wife and I make $95,000 per year. What does your tax plan mean for me and my wife?"

Obama will be able to answer. Grumpy will say the taxes go down, but he won't be able to say how much. Obama's tax savings will be at least twice the size of Grumpy's.

Correct.
Brokaw picks all the questions.

The 'town hall' aspect of the debate is strictly stagecraft.

4. Exactly. Tom will just pick the questions that would be similar if he were just asking
the questions. This format will be a complete bore tonight. I'm not even sure why the two are even on the same stage. No followups and they won't discuss questions to each other. A total waste of time.

3. Frankly, I'm not thrilled with the idea of "undecideds" at this point. Usually repubs...
undecided at this point means that your'e probably a republican who is unhappy with McCain and looking for a reason to vote for him. We've gone thru this in every election at this point. Very few undecideds left out there at this point, so you have to question HOW they determine who is and isn't undecided, and if some are saying that to blow air up mcCranky's skirt once they get in.

I heard ONE undecided in the market the other day. She was with two friends who supported obama. And she was going on and on about "not knowing their positions" at this point?

5. I heard on MSNBC that the questioners are being screened by Gallup
to try to make sure they are really undecided.

7. They don't need actual plants.

When is the last time you met a Republican who did not know every talking point by heart? They don't have to plant anyone because their rank-and-file already know exactly what to ask.

BROKAW: "This question is for Sen Obama from Mr Whiterthanwhite. He wants to know why Sen Obama does not include his middle name on his campaign literature? I should point out for the record that John Sidney McCain does not use his middle name in campaign literature either. Senator Obama?"

BROKAW: "This question is for Sen Obama from Mr Holierthanthou. He wants to know why Sen Obama is hiding his Muslim past."

BROKAW: "This question is for Sen Obama from Mr Betteramerican. He wants to know why Sen Obama hangs out with known terrorists from the 1960s and gets advise from Minister Farakhan."

BROKAW: "This question is for Sen Obama from Mrs Goodwife. She wants to know why Sen Obama hates women and repeatedly addressed Sen Clinton during the Democratic Primary debates as, 'Hillary, you ignorant slut'?"

Cripes, I have FNC blocked, I don't listen to talk radio, and I don't hang out with Republicans. But I can still repeat their fucking talking points line for line.
