Friend of mine says "I'm not voting because neither one does anything for me."
Meaning, Obama does not do anything to excite me.

Me: If you don't vote, you're a selfish little b**ch.

Her: Well, I don't think I can vote for Obama.

Me: Just so you know, I've decided that any of my friends who vote for McCain are off my friends list. Seriously....no fucking around.

Her: I knew that was coming. But nothing will change much with either of them. Besides, I can't tell the differnce between the two.

Me: You haven't even watched a debate yet. You have no right to even HAVE an opinion. Your job tonight is to watch the debate and then report back to me. And another thing....you want another four years of the same shit? Give the dems a chance this election. Vote for Obama. One more thing. Imagine what McCain will look like 4 years from now IF he makes it. Then imagine HER as president. Go home and think that over.

Her: You scare the shit out of me.

Me: McCain and Palin scare the shit out of me. And so do uninformed voters. Like, you little missy.

Man, how did I end up with such morons as friends?

11. Here's a howler, "I know the GOP is bad...
but I just don't see anyone coming from the Democratic side who could really excite people."

At that point I just decided it's not worth talking to them anymore.

7. Given the choice between "uninformed voter" and "uniformed non-voter"
I'll pick "uniformed non-voter".

It's better that some people don't vote. Leave her alone.

20. My response would be
"Then don't decide" and leave it at that.

If she doesn't want to participate that is her right to choose that course. We may disagree, but that is her choice. I believe she has her right to an opinion, even if that is 'no opinion".

I have friends and family that will vote for McCain or not vote and that is their right to do so. If they ask me I will offer what I can, but I will be respectful in doing so. I won't argue with them or talk down to them and I don't believe that Obama would do so if he were standing in your or my shoes at the very moment.

It's probably the most important election in our lifetime, yet sometimes we all need to take a deep breath and chill.

They're indies, but pretty much anti-Dem (living in MA there are Dems and there are Dems). However, they don't ever vote - not worth the 15 minutes they could be spending at home or at work.

13. Hey, I talked to a long lost DUer last week (not banned, just no longer posting)
She told me she's not voting. She was a Hillary supporter and she still dislikes Obama for the things he said about her, and that he's just so arrogant. However, she told me that Sarah Palin pissed her off so much that if they keep it up she may just go vote for Obama.

I informed her that her state is now within reach (still big reach, but it's been narrowing rapidly as of late) I think she started to crack. I need to work on her and hopefully she'll then work on her family.

The willfully ignorant I call them (to their faces).

One of them goaded me into a convo after the last McLame/Obama debate. I pointed out some FACTS for him and he said it was opinion. I said no they are facts. He said opinion. I called them up on my computer to show them that were in fact, FACTS. He told me he didn't have tme for all that and left in a huff. He came over for the first time since then yesterday.

My mother is like that. She rips on Obama all the time and then when I try to say anything about McLiar she says "We need to change the subject". I ask her don't you want to know everything about your candidate? (god knows I know more about Obama than I really should at this point) and she tells me "no, I like him and that is all I need". This is someone that is 83 and has no idea about how Mchatesthepeople will screw her over with medicare etc.

It's all I can do to not wonder how he can be so stupid to not see the enormous difference. I think some people are just so tired of politics and politicians that they've cynically labeled them all the same.

22. I tell people that say they don't like either candidate
to look at it this way. They don't like either one, just like people don't like getting poked by a sharp object. Then I tell them that they are going to get poked no matter what they do. So the question is, do they want to get poked with a pin, or a chainsaw. I admit that I got this from Rachel Maddow, who is a treasure.

I spoke at length to one last night. He is a Republican that is going to vote downline for the Dems but doesn't like either presidential candidate and has done his research.I am just glad he is voting downline. And I wouldn't call such people names. That isn't the way to get votes.

24. Send her over to
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=BarackObamadotcom

Ask her to WATCH Obama's speeches and then get back to ya.

This is what pisses me off when the CorpoMedia doesn't inform the masses, they turn us into Asses.

There is NO reason in hell that the CorpoMedia should deny us of this information. They should be required to cover rallies. In '04 we were told by the CorpoMedia that John Kerry didn't have a message. I watched every one of Kerry's rallies covered by C-SPAN and he was talking about every kind of issue that should have been "NEWS" but he was denied the opportunity to express his message.

Just a few months ago Chris Matthews admitted he hadn't watched ANY of Obama's rallies. Goes to show you that they don't care and are NOT willing to discuss the Issues that affect ALL of us.

37. My Dad was the same way.
But then I used the Supreme Court argument with him. He had no idea that 3 or 4 Justices on the court may retire. I asked him which candidate he wanted to choose those Justices for America. I told him to vote for Obama and to do it for his granddaughters future. He is old, but they are young. I told him that we already know what we will get with McCain. Take a chance on change!! He has agreed now to vote for Obama.

38. I could easily say all the same things.
I certainly hope Obama beats McCain. At this point, it looks likely.

I don't pretend that an Obama administration much that is POSITIVE. It's a lesser of two evils vote, all the way.

I was appalled to hear my democratic senator campaigning for Obama this week.

Not that he was campaigning for him; he's doing a great job, and he should be.

It's HOW he campaigned. He's telling voters to elect Democrats to support Obama, so that when he's elected, his fellow democrats in congress can help him enact his plans.

I don't want legislators legislating Obama's ideas. I don't like Obama on the issues. I want legislators to stand their ground and send him better legislation. If electing him means rolling over and pretending he is "right" on issues, what the fuck is the point?

As chief executive, Obama can sign the legislation that congress passes. Or not. Congress doesn't have to abdicate their jobs, and write it according to his specifications.

Just my take.

Frankly, I don't think people who notice that Obama's positions on issues are more republican-friendly than democratic are "morons." I think they are paying attention.

It always amuses me to see people who deride the "others" as "morons" for "drinking the koolaid" so adamant about drinking their own partisan koolaid, and "moronizing" all those who won't.
