Bill And Hillary To Campaign With Biden In Pennsylvania

Bill And Hillary To Campaign With Biden In Pennsylvania

By Greg Sargent - October 7, 2008, 5:02PM

For the first time, both Clintons will campaign together for the Obama-Biden ticket.

Hillary and Bill will be campaigning alongside Joe Biden this Sunday at an event in Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to Obama Pennsylvania spokesperson Sean Smith.

Polls have been showing Obama-Biden http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/polls_pennsylvania_slipping_aw.php">starting to pull away in the Pennsylvania -- and that's before any appearance by the Clintons in the state.

The Clintons will hammer away at economic themes in their speeches at the Sunday rally, and they are likely to play up the roots in the Scranton area that both Hillary and Biden share. Further details will be announced later in the week.

1. Thats' great, but I think PA is pretty safe for us. I'd rather see them in OH & FL, or NV. Still,
a big shout out to the Clintons!

9. Don't get overly sure about PA! I have a lot of relatives there, and
although Pgh & Philly are pretty secure, there are still a LOT of older people who just can't bring themselves to vote for a black man. This trio could help a lot in overcoming that!

13. The rural areas don't usually vote for Dems - PERIOD.
It's the gun issue again.

Be cautious in playing the race card.

14. But if they can't bring themselves to vote for a black man, they won't for Obama even if he was up
by 50 percent.

15. I happen to think they would vote for OBama IF McNuts looks & sounds
crazy enough, and Obama ultimately could be good for their pocktbook. Even in the rural red parts of Pa. they're being hurt by this terrible economy.

5. On Wednesday, Biden will get back on the campaign trail traveling to Florida,...
where he will hold his first solo campaign rally in 12 days. His last solo rally was on September 26 in Cudahy, Wisconsin, near Milwaukee.

6. They should have a "talk-off" between Bubba and Biden for a fundraiser!
Hillary can referee or see who cheats by stopping to breathe.

7. Speaking of Bill, I hope Obama borrows one of Bill's lines tonight
at the debate and says that he will "focus like a laser beam" on the economy.

10. The WashPost had an article about Scranton as Biden turf and the Guardian had one about it as HRC...
turf.
