McCain succeeds in deflecting criticism with Palin? That ends tonight!!
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 06:00 PM by L. Coyote
What do you think? Is pit bull nonsense wagging the political dog?
Okay, more than a few days ago Palin was nominated as the 2008 iRrelevant Party V-P candidate.
Nonetheless, focus does not seem to have turned back to the P candidate, his iRrelevant-in-Chiefness, John McCain.

Perhaps this is a poor time to question misplaced focus, given the poll spike in Obama-Biden support.
Public opinion seems to have shifted significantly away from iRrelevancies to Obama-Biden, and to a landslide winning degree.

Tuesday Oct 7 to Tuesday Nov 4 is a long time in political terms.
Especially if the focus does not shift back to the iRrelevancy of John McCain.

Has John McCain enjoyed a free pass from negative attention by too much focus on Palin?
Perhaps the debate tonight will refocus the Nation, and our discourse.

What are your predictions?
Will McCain act desperate and iRrelevant?
Where will McCain want us to focus?

On issues?
On emotions?
On fear and terror?
On the economy
Or the wars?

1. Ooh Ooh - can I play?
John McCain will spend his time tonight trying to craft a thinly veiled racists rant hoping to appeal to all of the worst aspects of human nature.

4. I'll bet the racists have made up their minds already! You are correct that
"appeal to all of the worst aspects of human nature" is likely.
When you are losing by a landslide, it might be all you have.

You know it won't be an appeal to reason!

5. Low expectations, honestly.
Brokaw is a right-wing shill, and his ol' buddy McCrap needs a big boost if not a miracle at this point. Brokaw also gets to pick the questions and issue the follow-ups, so expect to smell the stench of a set-up from the get-go. This one is stacked against Obama, as any clear victory for him tonight effectively ends the campaign, and that's not going to happen on Brokaw's watch. Schieffer has a small shred of journalistic integrity left when compared to the original Reagan ballwasher that is Tommy Boy, so I still expect Obama to score the knockout in the final debate. Tonight I think you'll see BO bobbing and weaving, which is probably the smart thing to do, as there's simply no way Tommy Boy is going to let Obama own that room.
