Was it just me, or did anyone else notice the zombie-like tone in the voices of the RNC delegates when they chanted "four more years"?
It reminded me of the scene from the The Mummy, where the evil mummy hypnotises crowds to attack Brendon Frasier and gang, and they chant a mantra and close in on them.
Anyone else got the same impression?
Creepy wasn't it? I did not notice anything resembling that in the DNC.

Reichkanzler Bush enters, both arms up in the Fascist salute, as the Brownshirts chant. Elected by a mere 34% of the vote, he has seized and consolidated political power by alienating the political opposition, polarizing the electorate with fearmongering, demonizing one ethnic minority after another, and unilaterally invading countries he describes to the electorate as threats, but which actually have resources he wants.

Sound familiar?

It's a hellish vision, but now our own.

...it totally freaked me out. Some of them had tears in their eyes, and were gazing up at him in the most disturbing worshipful way. The word that kept popping into my head was 'cult.' They were hanging onto his every word like some brainwashed cult members. And I remember thinking, after one particularly dull uninspiring line like "spread liberty outward" or some such tripe, that... why are they going ballistic over that? It's the same crap he spits out in his press conference speeches. Why should such a tired contrived image (that really doesn't make sense) generate another frenzied "FOUR MORE YEARS!"???

I can't begin to understand it, except to say... there is some real cult mentality factor there that won't go away even if he's defeated. I don't remember even seeing this much mindless adulation with Reagan. It's really unnerving.

10. I think they're all on drugs

like Prozac, Paxil, and other dangerous, mind-altering, funky brain meds. Have you seen Laura Bush's face? She looks like a Stepford wife from all of the Prozac she's on. She looks like she should bust out singing Everything is Beautiful. The rest of the followers reminded me of people in a cult following their leader. These are truly some scary people.
