Boy mixed feelings on news coverage this morning....
I'm upset about the hurrican and obviously about what is happening in Russia. But on the other hand, no cable or network news channel, at the time when I was waking up (at 7 exactly) was even discussing the speech. And it's not the headline on CNN either.

I didn't watch it so I don't know if that means it was bad or just that they don't care to cover it. Kerry's was the headline story the next day.

1. The repug idiots thought they were so smart,
scheduling their convention close to 9/11. Now, the Chimp-in-chief's speech got knocked off the news with the hurricane and the hostage situation.

2. Speech was lead story on NPR at 7am
Gave some excerpts. Focus on terror, revising the tax code (more tax breaks for the rich), and programs to expand home ownership by 7M in the next four years. Overall, Carl Castle (sp?) was not gushing at all. It was a pretty neutral report. Bush did not appear good as a result.

4. Keep an eye on that "home ownership" issue....
Home ownership was already at record levels when Chimpy stole his office, and the big gains were made by increasing home ownership rates among minorities and the poor.

Over the next four years there's going to be about 9 million new households formed...so he can get that 7 million pretty much doing nothing...if things hold up.

3. It was a big load of tired blah....
and the hurricane and the terrorism kind of stuck a pin in the storyline: "God's own candidate makes world safer."
