morning. One lady called in and started on about Alterman hating Bush and Eric nailed her for it right off - as in "you don't know me, how do you know what motivates me?" etc. Poor lady got befuddled and backed off right away and admitted she didn't know that. Completely threw her off her game. Then a guy called in and was ripping Eric for liberal lies and how Bush has created just as many jobs as Clinton did his first term but he couldn't back it up with ONE statistic when Alterman challenged him - he switched the topic to Somalia! - whatever that had to do with job creation.

1. If only more people on our side would challenge freeper callers

and freeper interviewers. There is an exchange on beliefnet.com between Michael Moore and Shmuely Boteach (an "orthodox" rabbi who supports *). Boteach challenges Moore on his alleged anti semitism (for daring to criticize Israel!). During the piece Moore continually says, you'd be surprised how much we agree on the issues.

"No, I don't, he said. That quote was taken completely out of context. I believe strongly in Israel's security and Israel's right to defend itself."

When the booing died down, I bent over and asked Moore whether he was ashamed or offended. "Nah, I take it all in good humor," he said. "These people are Americans, just like me. They love this country, just like I do. I bet that if we all sat down together, we'd discover just how much we agree on all the issues."
