This contradicts another story by them that the job situation looks rosy in August!

:wtf:

There was an increase in jobs, but NOT near as many as expected. Therefore the market will suffer! If this is "rosy" please don't tell me what glum means.

1. is there a link?
On CNBC (sorry no link) several talking heads were discussing whether * had the jobs numbers before his speech last night, because normally they would have been available to the president (but not to the public) at that time. The White House claimed he did not have them. My first thought was that they absolutely had them or could have demanded them, and if the #s were good, they would have been worked into the speech.

the WH planted a story specifically denying that Bush would see them before the speech. I wonder why they did that?

Edited to link to the story

6. Yahoo was half right.
Dow was up, NASDAQ was down shortly after the opening.
