CNN Focus Group Is Weird
Most thought Obama won the debate. Most had their dials tuned up for Obama most of the time, but when asked who they would vote for they went 14-11 for McCain.

4. They should never let the same people be on a focus group more than once...
This is sort of pretty basic. The incentives are totally weird now. If you choose a candidate, you don't come back, but if you keep giving the "I'm confused...nothing new...blah blah blah" answer, you come back for the second debate. That pretty much discounts their comments I think.

7. Exactly, and I wonder if more leaned a certain way as part of "group think" in the room. nt

5. So, Obama won a focus group that ended up being skewed McCain-leaning? Great.

6. We've still got 28 days to go. That's a lot of time for momentum to build.
Some of them may go home and think about what Obama said. They may be embarrassed to admit voting for a black man on TV. But I think time will do wonders here.

Think of it as a Reality show cast. They hang around and LIE about being undecideds.

10. I thought it was the other way: Obama narrowly edged McCain.

In any case, these are undecided voters (a.k.a. attention-seeking morons). I hate that all the networks got to these putzes for instant reactions.

ETA: Sorry, I think I got it wrong. You're right. They went for McCain. Again, they're putzes.

11. CNN should dump these people and move their focus group to a different battleground state.
Virginia would be good.
