I'm starting to hear the Repukes counterattack to Kerry's speech
"John Kerry needs to calm down" "He has become irrational" "He's desperate and he's foaming at the mouth" "He's become a rabid dog"

Not exact quotes, but I am paraphasing what I am starting to hear. Look for this to be the talking point for the next few days.

8. Yep. Zell's speech + Matthews implosion is the new standard for
political hate speech. Pat Buchanan is finally off the hook.

11. This is why"Gore lost the debates"
This is why"Gore lost the debates" -- because when he showed any passion on an issue, the RW pundits told people afterwards to think he was acting crazy, and that he was "being mean" to GW.

13. Kerry is angry
So are a lot of Americans (and people in other countries). But he has his anger under control. His speech last night was passionate but measured (if that's not an oxymoron; sorry, more of that girly man nuance we Democrats can't seem to hide). The Republicans and their stooges in the press want a free field; they can't stand it when Democrats don't simply roll over and present our neck to them like the defeated dogs they want us to be. They believe it is in the natural order of things that they should be in charge, and when they are challenged it seems as unnatural to them as it must have seemed to the slaveholders of the old South when blacks started demanding their rights, too.

This is just more Republican bullshit. If Kerry keeps hitting them hard on their complete inability to deliver on their promises and the total failure of their policies, they will back down like the chickenshit coward bully pussies that they really are.

All this reaction shows is, Kerry is on the right track.

15. That's crazy!! First thing my husband said was "He's so relaxed."
He was smiling, he was relaxed -- these people have nothing to say, so they're making things up!! They're describing Zell Miller, Rudy Giuliani, Dick Cheney, et al, not John Kerry.

17. I agree here
We need to be more “calm” and “rational” like FUDick, Zellster, and the rest of that brigade of bandits.

18. Same old. Same old.
If Kerry (or anyone opposing *) is calm and measured, he is "weak" and "boring". If he is strong and passionate, he is "crazy" and "desperate".

:argh:

19. Kerry's mad as hell just like the REST of the country!
Who wouldn't be pissed off? Look at the way Bush has driven the country into a ditch!

LOTS of people are mad as hell--it is an appropriate response from someone who loves their country and is tired of seeing it trashed!
