Ignorance of Major Cultural Events that Would Equal Ignorance of the PBS Poll on DU

In this thread, we name a major event in the life of recent American culture, the ignorance of which would be the cultural equivalent of not knowing about that FUCKING PBS POLL IN GD/P. So, for example:

1) The Death of John Lennon - Suppose, about two weeks after the death of John Lennon, somebody walked into a bar, saw Paul McCartney on TV, and said "I wonder how John's doing. Does anybody know?"

2) The Explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger - Imagine a person who, a week after the Challenger Disaster, says to you, over lunch "Hey. Did that space shuttle with the teacher land yet? I'll bet she'll have some stories for her class, right?"

For a person to be a frequent contributor to this board, and NOT know about that FUCKING PBS POLL is about the equivalent, culturally, of being those two dimwitted fuckfaced motherfuckers.
