Schwarzenegger criticized for Austrian history gaffes

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- Austrian historians are ridiculing California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for telling the Republican National Convention that he saw Soviet tanks in his homeland as a child and left a "Socialist" country when he moved away in 1968.

Recalling that the Soviets once occupied part of Austria in the aftermath of World War II, Schwarzenegger told the convention on Tuesday: "I saw tanks in the streets. I saw communism with my own eyes."

No way, historians say, challenging Schwarzenegger's knowledge of postwar history -- if not his enduring popularity among Austrians who admire him for rising from a penniless immigrant to the highest official in America's most populous state.

4. That Is What I Never Understood how CA could elect him after

the Enron thing. He screwed his own state & then they elect him governor.

5. Don't blame me or my County, Marin - we voted overwhelmingly against

him 98% of the vote (and San Francisco too)...

It was the rural valley areas with all the "migrants" and conservative farming areas...they like the Terminator Movie Star Shoot em up crap....

Makes me sick...they planned this in CA...wouldn't surprise me, no rather I expect it that they will do something to our elections..

6. That whole dammed thing sucked & I don't live there but just watching

it on the side was sickening. Davis may not have been the best, you would know more about that but hell they should have been pissed at the energy companies raping them & Arnold like you said met with Enron at a hotel there sometime before the election. He had to know.
