Palin is highly qualified to be a Republican President
Sarah Palin is absolutely qualified to be the Republican President of the United States. This because the Republican Party has undergone a dramatic fundamental change. People have to grasp the fact that the Republican Party has been transformed into fundamentalist religious cult. An unexpected thing happen to the Republican Party when the targeted the Evangelicals and fundamentalists to strengthen the party membership. Instead to being able exploit them as "useful idiots" the Useful Idiots took over their party. The Republican Party was transformed by religious extremists into a vehicle to transform our nation into a Christian Theocracy. They are on a Holy Crusade to save America from liberals and secular humanism that they claim is destroying the moral wellbeing of the nation. They have rallied around two key issues, homosexuality and abortion, as their key issues to gain control of the Republican Party. Palin represents their perfect candidate who embraces their dominionistic philosophy in which they would dominate all public offices in which they could impose their brand of fundamentalist Christianity on the nation. It would be a return to the Dark Ages. A return to the world before the Enlightenment. Once in control they would amend the Constitution to reflect their religious convictions. This is not an exaggeration, but a stated goal of the leadership of two of their most powerful institutions, Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council. I can only hope that the Republican Party is so thoroughly defeated that the element that has hijacked their party will be totally discredited and the Party come to its senses and if not, then slip away into extinction.

2. Just one correction...
FoF and FRC are the same organisation. FRC is simply the political wing of FoF.

3. Born in the South, grew up surrounded by the Southern Baptists
in the 1950-1970's, they weren't extreme back then, I was able to go to Halloween parties, watch scary evil movies, could read anything I liked. I was encouraged to read William Shakespeare and Mythology.

Now they're so extreme that they want to ban books, book burning, discourage Halloween, etc. They've gone backward to the 1500's..to dark age! What are they going to do next? Hang/burn witches?

It's scary that they're trying to take control of the White House now. It's more of mental illness case to me.

5. It is because she would be a mere figurehead
Hopefully the US has had enough of that as the last 8 years shows. Cheney, Rumsfeld, the whole gang of jerks who were pulling *s strings.

They rely on "advisors" and are just the spokesperson.

We need a President who is the actual President and who is in charge of his "advisors." Not one who is just their puppet.
