Given McCain's hate-filled campaign stops I think Powell and Hagel should just endorse Obama
and put an end to this charade.

I have a feeling that if those two just came out and said that in light of McCain's behavior they now have decided to publically endorse Obama that you'd see a flood of people abandon McCain for good.

I know it won't happen but I can dream.

1. Hagel has already endorsed him hasn't he?
As for Powell he really should stop sitting on the fence at this point, I agree with you. It won't mean anything to DU'ers of course but that endorsement will be important to some independents.

2. Hagel's wife endorsed Obama, not Hagel himself

5. Correct, it was his wife. Hagel has decided to sit this one out
Given that he's retiring next year I really don't understand his unwillingness to commit. It's obvious that his refusal to endore McCain is pretty much a vote of no confidence as is and he went on Obama's European junket.

7. Thank you for the clarification.
I'm certain when he goes into the ballet box he's pulling for Obama, but I see your point - an official endorsement would help a lot.

4. He didn't. He just said
that Biden being chosen as VP is good for Obama and good for America.

I think it was Kristol who started that rumor. I wouldn't put much stock in it.

10. Powell donated to McCain. He is a loyal soldier who lied about WMDs and
is committed to the republican party. No way he will endorse Obama.

11. well, many say he was set up and feels very betrayed by bush
I don't think it's as simple as it appears, but we'll see.

It doesn't matter either way; Obama will win!
