Watch out for those polls: The set-up is on....again!
It's all about what I have always stated...the media uses polls to sway public opinion...
It's all been done before....
it works and it's so easy!

and if we don't do something about it, it will be done AGAIN!

SEPTEMBER 2, 2004 – It's better overseas.

If you turn on the TV news in places like South America, what you are hearing now is that not only has President Bush begun to move ahead of John Kerry in some polls, but that he is is far ahead, past the margin of error, and that, even more, he will stay there from this point on.

We've been getting e-mails and reading the stories about how supposedly Kerry's campaign is in disarray, how George Bush is supposedly suddenly in the lead, how Democrats are freaking out.

Don't any of you remember last election?

Remember the "inevitability?"

Oh yeah, you forgot about that.

Don't you remember how as far as two years before the last Presidential election the entire media was reporting, and reporting, and reporting, that it was inevitable that an unknown Governor from Texas, George W. Bush, was "unbeatable" against Al Gore, the semi-incumbent in a time of peace and prosperity? Don't you recall how basically every single poll reported that there was no way Gore was going to win, how Bush's victory was just a matter of time? Don't you remember how odd and alarming you found that?

For those of you who have forgotten, let us remind you with a simple, factual stroll through memory lane. We will simply list the dates, sources, titles and authors, then give you the direct quotes so you can relive it all.

READ THE REST..... http://www.moderateindependent.com/v2i24inevitable.htm

It's all been done before....

8. Unfortunately.....
It's not quite as easy as that. Wish it was.

Please know that these polls and the reporting of these polls do affect the way in which sheeples votes.

Remember that poll reporting were used ad-naseum during the Democratic primaries as well as during the 2000 election. And just like it affected Kerry's numbers positively during the primaries, it can and may effect the election this year.

It's the bandwagon effect created and managed by the media. So we don't want to just dismiss the strategy that the media utilizes in swaying voters. Many voters vote based on the "horse race"....meaning they want to vote for a winner.....and thus, the media who understands this phenomenon of human nature, uses this weakness to their advantage to control elections as much as they possibly can.

My posting (kudos for those who read the entire article) is meant as a "Watch out for the tree!"

We should be writing to any media outlet that cites this polls and sending them the results of other polls that do not show the same results. I have noticed that all media outlet end up citing the same poll (normally the one that illustrates the worst outcome for whomever they are "against" at the time).

2. who is reporting that bush is far ahead
and it will be hard for Kerry to catch up?

I haven't heard any of that

In addition, we need to wait at least a week before we can see where the direction in the polls are

Polls are not accurate after a convention

6. And if Bush debates Kerry, the same pattern will repeat itself
Kerry can win the debates, but the Media pundits will spin it otherwise. Instead of eyes rolling they'll say kerry was :boring: while Bush was answering questions and when Kerry spoke, he was angry and that is bad. That's what I predict the meme will be to the bushleague media hyenas.

7. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
If they're allowed to do this, they ARE going to win.
