I guess I must come to the sad conclusion that most Americans are hateful and stupid. How else do you explain these polls?

How do you explain most people believing that Saddam was a threat to the US when he couldn't even fly planes in his own country for the last 12 years of his rule?

How do you explain that 60% of the people still believe that Iraqis were involved in 9/11 when most of the highjackers were Saudis and none were Iraqis?

2. Vietnam was 30 years ago.
There are voters who were not even born then. Could it possibly be that they don't give a shit who did what in a war that had no effect on their lives whatsoever? And that that's why the draft dodging accusations against W didn't work in 2000, and comparing Kerry's and W's service back then won't work now? Just a thought.

Voters who don't have the experience, interest or imagination to know what a guerilla war is like.

Who was it who said that those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it?

Just a thought.

4. about 50% of voters are completely uninformed . . .
about politics and world and national affairs . . . some of them can't even tell you which countries border the US, where Iraq is, or how many branches of government there are . . . these folks get all of their info from tv, and they vote accordingly . . . and tv is the medium of the multinational corporations that support BushCo . . . it's a giant brainwash, and unfortunately there are a substantial number of washable brains out there . . .
