When are we going to stop repeating mistakes?
We wait too long to respond to attacks, claiming that we will take the high road.

We put people who have never won a presidential campaign at the helm of our campaign.

We have our Convention way too early in comparison with the opposition.

We nominate not only a Northerner, but one from Massachusetts who has problems connecting with average Americans.

1. It's a bit soon to call any of this
a mistake, dontcha think? We'll know more after the election. Until then, it's just hysterical hyperventilating.

2. Yeah, it really sucks doesn't it.
I was not for Kerry in the primaries even though I live in Mass.

Don't know why he won.

8. Tennessee, NC, VA hava great Democratic governor
We should be grooming them to run for President, like the Republicans did well before 2000 with Bush. We should have showcased some southern governors at the convention. Now, we need to up their profile, put them on the talk shows, everywhere.

16. "Average Americans" are eager to elect a competent leader. They
now know that Chimpy is an incurable ignoramus. I took them 4 year to realize it.

17. Northerner ?
I don't know about you but I am fed up with the south and middle America dictating the values and policy of this country.

Bill Clinton is from the south but that's not why he connected with people. He connected in my opinion because he stood his ground fearlessly on issues that matter to people.

I don't think Kerry has a problem with connecting with "average" Americans (whatever that means). He connects fine with people he is being relentlessly attacked and these "average" folks that you speak of are more the problem because they don't understand their government or their own role in that government.

The convention should be held closer to theirs.

The high road stuff is a problem but I believe that's because the powers that run the campaign are too worried about what republicans will think rather than what democrats and liberals will think. Swing voters in my opinion are way overrated. The Democratic party would be better served focusing on motivating the non-voter than these disengaged, disingenuous goofballs that think or claim they don't know enough to make up their damn minds when the rest of us have already figured it out long ago.

18. Obviously, I'm a southerner, but I hate the fact that my region is so
Behind the rest of the modern western world. I also believe that my region keeps the nation from being a modern, enlightened nation since it represents a good chunk of the national vote. That being said, I want to win, and one of the ways to win is to nominate a southerner. It is a capitulation to the prejudices of the South, which will not vote for Northerners, particularly Northern Democrats. I know it is pitiful, but I want to win more than all else right now.
