Remember folks: all it takes is one scandal to break
and * loses his small bounce. I guarantee his bounce is soft.

His Administration is festering with scandals and facts they are trying to keep hidden.

Two months is a long time....

11. Pentagon Spy
Yeah, I still think the Pentagon spy issue could explode. If Dubya can go 2 months and several debates without a major screw up, it'll be a miracle. I just pray for an honest news reporter that will try to get at the bottom of the spy issue. I really think this could be big.

15. True, but. . . .
1. Will it be out in time ? To be effective, it needs to hit the bookshelves REAL SOON NOW, in order to build a grassroots buzz. . .

2. The Chimp seems to be slicker than teflon coated with whaleshit. . . would it stick anyway ?

Time will tell. . .

17. Yes the 60 minutes piece
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 08:26 PM by sffreeways
I think this is a sleeper.

And after it airs I'd like to see the party bring out Wes Clark and other military leaders to act shocked and horrified. Get moveon to put a spot together with clips from the piece and have Colin in there with his comments about how disgraceful he thought it was that the wealthy got a pass because they were connected while working class kids were drafted. Pan over the wall with all of the names of the dead then cut to the photo of Bush in his ANG days next to Kerry in the jungle.

Find some other republicans that got a pass. Find out where the bigmouths of the religious right were when Kerry was there. Make a list of all of the republican war enthusiasts and find out where they were from 65-72.

Bush- awol
Fallwell- ?
Wolfy-?
Rove-?

All of em !

Wasn't Bush arrested for drunk driving while he was in the ANG ? Why didn't he recieve any grief from the service ? I knew a Marine that was arrested for drunk driving while he was enlisted and he got into big trouble with the brass at Lemoore. I think he was demoted. On second thought drunk driving wasn't that much of a big deal yet in those days but instead of showing up for his physical he was showing up for a drink.

They want to indict every democrat in this country for being weak on our military ? Show America who is really weak here. Make another list of all of the democrats that served. There sure are a lot of em.

These people create scandal where there isn't scandal. All you have to do is read Al Frankens book to see how they do it.

7. There's been two years of one scandal after another
The O'Neill book.

The Clarke book.

The prison abuse.

The sixteen words (or whatever number it was).

Granted none have to take him down - but they did affect his numbers, his ratings.

Remember: there is Plame, there is the Israeli spy, the Chalabi wierdness, and the worst of the Abu 'Grub' abuse/torture is still being kept secret.

And then there is shit we haven't even thought of yet.

4. 60 Minutes : Bush got preferential treatment
combined with Kerry's attack on Cheney's 5 deferments for other priorities - I think this will have a profound effect on Bush.

Plame indictments would also hit him hard as well as Enron hearings.

They say the drunk driving news in 2000 did have a negative impact - this stuff is more pertinent to his ability to lead.

8. i do not believe * got a bounce of any sort from that hatemongering
clusterfuck of a convention. the media can TRY to shove this down our throats but i still hold that the past 4 days was nothing but a liability for them. it was the worst convention and the delegates looked cautious to me. they cheered when it was time to cheer but other than that, they seemed a little reticent.

i remember the DNC and the atmosphere truly seemed more uplifting and "Happy". people looked like they enjoyed themselves more. Also, i think the dnc was better planned. things looked more organized.

9. No, all it takes is one scandal to be repeated
on TELEVISION NEWS over and over again. If it's not on TV, then half the people of America won't know anything about and the rest may not believe it. Let's face it, we do need the media even if we loathe them and they just ain't with us.

18. It's all about money and ratings
and the more sensational a scandal is the more people want it. Peterson, Kobe, they are tranfixed when it comes to serious dirt and that's what has to happen. That's why Monica was such a winner. Sex and lies.

Somebody has to start dishing the filth on Bush and soon.

19. Why I think these don't stick
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 08:52 PM by sffreeways
The Spy/Syrian scandal..too complicated for scandal monger types

The prison torture scandal...almost, close but they blamed the soldiers, didn't touch Bush but almost.

the lie everyday scandal...not a scandal, nothing new they lie in their sleep

The Bush Military scandal...this one still has potential

The Mission Accomplished Scandal...not juicy enough and Franks took the heat for supposedly suggesting it. Still had an effect, consider all of those Mission not accomplished signs at the RNC demonstrations.

The Rumsfield torture connection scandal...again doesn't touch Bush for the scandal monger types still has potential depending on the hearings and the possibilty of new info.

The WMD scandal...has had an effect. They are on the defensive on this one

The National Guard Back Door draft Scandal...needs work, could connect to his draft dodging scandal if that can be inflated by the 60 minutes thing.

The Medicare Scandal...again too complicated for anyone that isn't recieving it.

The CIA/FBI scandal...these two have been a scandal since I can remember.

The 9/11 Commission scandal...had an effect

The Swiftboat Connection Scandal...had an effect it slowed the momentum of their attack. The damage was minimal to Kerry

Whatever the scandal is there is not going to be a Monica that brings him down all at once before the election. But some of these still have potential, there are still others out there that could break. The democrats need to go on the attack for Kerry and turn up the heat as we get closer and closer.
