Food Bank Shopping Checklist

Print it out, make copies for your friends, leave at your workplace, etc.

Many food banks are getting fewer donations, but more clients! DU can make a big difference.

Donate in honor of community organizers, Obama, or in DU's name. Just please donate.

1. It occurred to me today

I think the CEO of AIG should donate the same 400,000 plus bucks spent at the resort to Second Harvest. The government should make all the rescued firms' CEOs contribute too.

7. We went to the foodbank today and it was closed

not to make a deposit, which I've done on several occasions, but to try to make a withdrawal..

Guess we're screwed.

We've spent over 200K battling Bush Co at Takebackthemedia.com, and now I'm broke - Beginning to think that I wasted all that time.

Thanks for the post, hope some folks still have the ability to donate.

Meanwhile the DU is giving Obama $100K when he's kicking the shit out of McCain, which is good, but between that and the Billions floating around when I can't afford butter I'm turning a little bit bitter. Maybe that's what Obama was talking about :)

9. There have been many people helping me perfect the list.

Gently reminding me what should be on and what should be taken off the list.

They also reminded me that more people need food banks and fewer are able to donate.

It is my hope that the people who are able to donate will.

Maybe copies of the list can be dropped off at stores so people who can will be able to donate.

12. I got a notice like this from my daughter's school today!

I'm going to be cleaning out my pantry this weekend and sending her to school laden with stuff. Or maybe I'll just cart it in myself since she's only 7. lol :)

14. Well, I'm sort of a food horder. lol

I'm the sort of grocery shopper who will often buy extra staples to have on hand "just in case" and then get home and realize that I've bought that same thing "just in case" about three or four times. As a result, I have several jars of unopened peanut butter, canned tomatoes, etc etc. lol
