My racist Grandmother-in-law is voting for Obama!
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 09:10 PM by Curtland1015
The last time I talked to her, several weeks ago, this was her exact quote:

"I don't like that John McCain and I hate that Sarah Palin. But I'm not voting for that "Oreo" Obama."

Today, out to dinner for my Mother-in-law's Birthday:

"Anyone who watched that debate the other night that still wants to vote for McCain is GOD DAMN INSANE! I can't wait to vote for Obama! I'm telling everyone in my building to vote for him!"

Wooooooooooooo!

I mean, she's still kinda racist... but WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Another vote for Obama!

1. Is your grandma Black?
Cause I've never heard a White person referring to a Black person as an "Oreo".

9. Nope. She's white.
70 years old, Irish Catholic from Staten Island. I've heard her say plenty of racist things over the years. I never thought I'd hear her say she was voting for a black man!

14. Because he is biracial...
I would never call a biracial person an oreo. That is obviously racist but some people were brought up like that, what do you want... it's hardcoded, in a way...

2. When your boat is sinking, you don't care what color the life raft is
And as the financial crisis deepens, I expect many other racists will realize that Obama represents their best hope of coming out of the mess with something.

3. Hey, I'll take the racist vote. If he has a successful presidency it might
help to "de-biggotfy' some of these people.

11. Very telling story! I think is speaks volumes, it's the last 'issue' left...
...with the electorate...

"I can relate to this black person?"

obviously, they're realizing they need an answer for themselves, and they need it soon.
