My take on Palin abuse of power.
The Palins didn't realize they were abusing power. They came from the background of owning their own business, where husband and wife shared duties regardless of who's name was the legal owner of the business. They owned the business, they could do whatever they wanted.

So Sarah get elected to the gov job and takes the same mind set with her. In her mind she's not just the CEO of the state, she owns the state of Alaska, and can do whatever she damn well pleases, including sharing power with hubby. After all, that's how they always did it at the Palin dealership, right? Dealership, state of Alaska, what's the difference? If you own it, you own it.

So the problem is she so bought into the "ownership society" that she thought she owned Alaska. If she ever got into federal office she's probably think she own the United States of America too.

3. I disagree with your first sentence.
They knew exactly what they were doing. That's why Toddy took the lead. They were told and made fully aware of the consequences.

5. Yes, I think that is why the safty commissioner found this so
troubling. It was his job to keep her from doing this. And when he stopped them, he was fired.

4. fiziwig> you nailed it - like a spoiled brat who eventually got her hand stuck in the cookie jar...
her response/actions will be interesting - guess we'll see how good she is at acting - nah! Sarah Palin abused the powers of her office and that's also a problem for the other maverick...
