Guess what was the last word Bonnie Raitt said to us at her concert tonight?
She looked at the audience, and for the second time, pointed at us and screamed: "VOTE!"

Gawd-I so love this woman!!!

1. Ohhh, Bonnie....
She has moved three houses up from me (Tiburon, CA).

She will be dropping in at Jon Kleary's gig at Sweetwater (Larkspur) on Saturday.

See you there.

Tom

16. Thom and Becky have moved it to Larkspur.
It's now called Sweetwater Station.

But there will never be another Sweetwater.

Did you know that, on the last night at the Sweetwater, someone broke in and stole that cool mandala tapestry? That thing had witnessed some of the best music of the 20th Century.

4. You are fortunate to see her in person - she is much better
live than on any recording I ever heard.

6. Agreed. She made over an old James Taylor song that was beautiful
and it bore little resemblance to the way James does it. And I adore James.

Incredible musician.
Incredible performer.
Incredible human being.
Incredible ass! Wow! She's so hot! It makes me want to be a guy!

11. She is one of the best guitarists around as well as that voice.
She looks pretty good for an old lady, too.

7. She should've said, "VOTE OBAMA!"
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 09:57 AM by ClarkUSA
Then again, she was for Edwards during the primary, much to her probable dismay. But that's no excuse.

8. It was obvious she was having difficulty holding that back. She did say at one point
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 09:58 AM by jazzjunkysue
after a song about gambling: "Talk about gambling: Try November 5th." She also did her recent song about "you can't break me." She said, It's been a rough couple of weeks" but didn't say exactly if it was financial or political or both.

So, the clueless will remain blissfully clueless and the interested will go to her website to check out her politics.

That's perfect. There's enough division. I'm glad she reinforced that voting is a responsibility and that there are enough differences between the candidates to make it vitally important. She was adamant: "VOTE!"

So, she cut through the apathy and the "they're all the same" meme.

9. She's amazing live
I love a woman who's got real guitar chops, doesn't just hand it over to a man. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

12. Exactly. Her guitar/blues chops are legendary, in either gender.
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 10:51 AM by jazzjunkysue
She plays with just one guitar, one bass, one keyboard and one drummer, and totally rocks out.

She bragged that one of the last tunes she played on a les paul. Beautiful.

Incredible singing delivery and sounds great after all the years on the road. But her guitar chops are world class.

Loved it!!! My boyfriend surprised me! One minute we were going to dinner, then he said he had a great band he wanted to hear. After 45 minutes in the car, out in the connecticut countryside, Foxwoods appeared. I still didn't know why we were going there.

In line to pick up the tickets, Bonnie flashed on their promo screen and I started screaming "Bonnie?" "Bonnie's here! No way!"

He totally surprised me.

Yup. I'm in love.
