Geez! The campaign begins in earnest and all is well..
it's to be EXPECTED that Bush would get a bounce out of the convention. SO WHAT???? Kerry is finally, in earnest, hitting back, plus about to launch a bunch of advertisements. And don't forget he had a media blackout (for the most part) in August in order to conserve money and try to level the playing field between him and Bush.

I, for one do not feel defeatist at all. It's just beginning.

I also believe that most thinking, honest people realize that Bush runs a scummy, devious campaign full of lies. But the issue isn't whether he's a scum, but the subissue of how Kerry fights against this. Because a true leader fights against evil and people are WATCHING to see how he deals with these smears. He didn't deal with it in a *muscular* fashion last month and demmit, that's what people wanted to see, him taking on the mob. The ones that want to feel safe and want a leader strong on terror will also take cues by how Kerry takes on Bush, who wrongly cows people into fear.

I saw a post on here earlier about how, if Kerry wasn't going to do it, well, i'ts up to us. Nope. I don't think so. It's up to kerry to show everyone how he can take on the unrighteousness of the Bush campaign and we will actively support him. If HE didn't take the lead on this, he wouldn't be worth voting for. But he is, he's not only fighting back, but mobilizing resources.

I'm heartened.
