Failin is At again!
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 12:11 PM by Heather MC
I just heard her "quote" Obama
"Woman shouldn't be punished with a baby"

No No No, He was speaking as a father talking about his daughters. And I have to admit when I first heard him say that I was like Oh My Barack why did you say that.

But, then again I understand, My father use to say almost everyday to anyone who would listen
"It's harder to raise girls, than boys, because girls can get pregnant."

Most father's I know fear that more than anything, that their daughters are having sex and making babies.

HEY FAILIN Why don't you talk about your plan to help lessen abortions, by making sure people in distress areas have proper health-care and jobs, so they will not be afraid of having another mouth to feed. Or how about comprehensive Sex education that teaches about the importance of abstinence AND birth Control.

Failin I go another Question for ya. Do you know the day your daughter lost her virginity??
I don't know any parent that knows that, my parent included. Making the assumption that abstinence only education was working is why your little girl got pregnant, you moron! No wait it was GOD's will, silly me!

1. You make a really good point
Your point is very valid, but I think more closely what he was trying to say was that if a girl finds herself pregnant and doesn't want to be, then not being permitted a safe, legal abortion would be like punishing her with a baby.

Thats how I heard it anyway. YMMV.

4. Yours' is a much better interpetation than Failin's lie
I was wonder when they were going to start using that quote against him.
the nice thing is the Obama Surrogate who was asked to comment about Failin's mis-use of the quote. Just said they would do anything to change the subject! People want to know what we are going to do about the economy.

3. I also don't think a woman should be punished with a baby either,
but many cannot afford a baby or don't want to raise a baby or whatever.. Choice is a nice thing. I've always had it in this country.. I'd hate to lose it after 29yrs of existence.

6. I know women, as I am sure many of us do, who had to do it the illegal way
And the thought of returning to that is frightening!
I don't think Abortions should be a Political Issues, and all the morons that feed into this crap seem to forget the Repukes had 6 years of total control to get rid of Abortions and they didnt't
So, really what's their point?

11. Randi Rhodes talks about that frequently
About why the Repukes don't overturn Roe v. Wade--they don't WANT to. It's their primo wedge issue, so they'll never want to get rid of it, because they can count on it to get the fundies up in arms at the drop of a hat.

5. You see, this is why I am proud to say I am...
...a pro-lifer. I feel that abortion and adoptions should be as open as realistically possible, because while personally find those choices distasteful, what right have I got to interfere in Bristol Palin's life? The decision should be made by her, the child's father and those whose opinions make a difference to those involved, not some pseudo-religious wanker in a state capital or Washington.

14. It is so disturbing that Palin really believes she has been
annointed by God. There was a time when such a person with that insane idea would have been laughed out of town.
