McCain drops Va. GOP county chairman over column
Source: Associated Press

Republican presidential candidate John McCain's campaign has ousted a prominent Virginia GOP figure who wrote a newspaper column mocking a potential Barack Obama administration.
A McCain spokeswoman said Bobby May was dropped this week from his job as McCain's Buchanan County campaign chairman.
May wrote in his column, "The (clarified) platform of Barack Hussein Obama," that if the Democratic senator were elected he would hire rapper Ludacris to paint the White House black and change the national anthem to the "Black National Anthem."

2. I keep getting the impression that he's play good cop.
To his surrogates bad cop acts. It's as if they're trying to pander to those who are offended and those who agree with these attacks.

12. Because it goes hand in hand with rehabilitating McCain
as playing the race card, and then acting shocked that anyone called him on it.

8. I'll Probably Get Flamed For This, But...
I'm going to give McSame the benefit of the doubt on this one. I am going to assume that while he thinks questioning Obama's associations may be fair game, overt racism - even under the guise of humor (white house becomes black house, etc) - has no place in the campaign.

Even if you don't give McSame any benefit of the doubt, consider that he knows if he doesn't condemn such remarks or racism, he could lose those few African Americans inclined to vote Republican. He must also realize that if his victory is in any part due to racism, he will have a much harder time getting African Americans to accept his presidency. So, see, even if you think McSame is slime (a sentiment I understand), he's not really willing to appear overtly racist.

13. It took a backlash and poll number dive to get his attention
Public opinion and poll numbers were not supporting their HATE campaign.

I welcome the change, but I think it's only because the other route wasn't working for them.

I wonder if Palin will get dropped like a hot potato next?

9. Sarah and the Snake.
Sarah Apallin' loves to whip up the racists and xenophobes. That's called firing up the base.

McCain can see the writing on the wall. His campaign is finished, and his whole political career is going to be finished if he can't salvage what's left of his image.

McCain is the snake and Sarah is lower than a snake's belly.

11. I feel exactly the same here and
until he repudiates Palins comments trying to link Obama to Ayers and others I wont consider McCains words genuine nor honest.
