Do Political ads really work ?

they can't be more than 30 second sound bites , how stupid can you be that they can convince you to turn either way.

Better use the money to print booklets explaining the detailed policies and distributing them to the public. Maybe a DVD ..

1. They work in the same way regular advertising works...

...no one sees a Tide commercial and thinks--"Hey, I'm going to go out and get a big Economy Sized Jug of Tide, Right Now!!"

But weeks later, if you're cruising down the aisle of the store, wondering which brand of Detergent you're going to get--you may subconsciously go "Hey--Tide is dependable and it's the brand everyone else uses. Why not?"

Same with political ads--they get stored in your mind for later.

2. I think some do. Remember, the avg. attention span of most

TV viewers, who already resent ads interrupting thier show, is about 30 seconds. That's one of the reasons most commercial ads are only 30 second spots.
