Just got back from canvassing.
I also am donating an old computer from my shop to the local Democratic headquarters.

They were thrilled to have that, as well as my small bit of expertise, on board.

I am also going to be getting an interview with one of the campaigns IT people to get the database up and running locally so they do not have to ship the numbers and info out for others to enter in, or something along those lines.

And to think I have only been involved for a few days!

What fun.

Canvassing was actually a blast, after I got over my initial stage fright, for lack of a better term.

Anyway I am feeling damn good about today, and John Kerry, and had to share.

Now off for a well deserved Guinness. Or 2. :)

2. Canvassing in Menomonie?
Very fun.

Thanks for doing that.

I've only passed through Menomonie and stayed at a KOA or some other campground up there.

Best to you.

VENCEREMOS!

3. Yep.
And our new party headquarters has its grand opening on Monday.

They are having a nice little get together.

Should get to meet everyone from the area.

Fun times.

4. thanks Seldona...if every DU got up and helped for even one or two
days, we could win this election....

it's easy to help (as you just found out)...and you meet a lot of real GOOD people from your area, people who care about your neighborhood, people who are active in local matters, people who serve the community as volunteers...your local Kerry campaign office is where you'll find those really good people, who step up and help the homeless, the injured, the sick, and those needing counseling....these are the people who are there when you need them, standing at voter registration booths, serving as polling volunteers during elections, serving on school boards....

we just got our Kerry Office open in Northern Virginia...entirely from local volunteers, donated furniture and computers, donated funds for the phone lines and rent....we are open every day of the week until November 2nd....come join us....your country needs YOUR help...make phone calls to others in your community (read a script and be nice), go door to door with info on John Kerry (canvass a neighborhood near you), enter data into computers (phone numbers for people that need to be called for rides to the polls, and to send info to, set up booths at county fairs, local events, when school opens and the parents arrive with their children, etc.)....

it's real easy, and a great way to meet your neighbors...if you aren't into organized politics, you can do it all alone....just download KERRY info and brochures off his web site...and hand those out to all the people on YOUR block, put a Kerry bumper sticker on YOUR car, put a Kerry sign in YOUR yard, and be certain to wear a KERRY t-shirt as you travel around town....yes, YOU can do it and YOU can make all the difference...

thanks again, Seldona, you are an inspiration to others....

5. That was awesome amen. Thanks.
And it is exactly how I feel.

The family business is not going all that well, and I feel bad for not being able to donate anything for the cause.

So I gave what I could, my time.

And it is far more satisfying than writing a check, though that is just as important.

Anyway I am spending every spare second from now until November doing whatever I can.

It is all I have to give, so I will give it.
