3. I didn't catch it all
was in the kitchen and just came in. He said this is soft, it's Kerry's to lose, negative wrong direction and reelect for Bush*. It's wall street week so he is way ahead with the 'investor class' but Kerry is ahead on the economy, healthcare and even on Iraq. Bush ahead on Terror issue. Economy #1 issue and healtcare is third.

5. No but he said that there are only
5% hardcore undecided and getting people out to vote is what will win this. Wish I had heard the beginning.

9. Kerry got a convention bounce
It just took the pollsters (especially Time/CNN) a week to admit it. Time/CNN--aren't they the one who claimed Bush got a double-digit convention bounce, and are now admitting that results are "flawed" and "impartial."

4. damn...not on my pbs stations
does he mean chimps digits will be inflated only temporarily and then they will sink again? wonder if there's anything special about this round or if that's just the way convention bounces go. always looking for every little positive kernel.

thanks for the heads up!

6. Yes, he said a few days.
What he said was different was that there are so few undecideds. We have to work on getting people to the polls on election day.

8. I've been screaming: forget the damn undecided---fire up the base
(that's exactly what Rove said Bush's strategy is right now) and get them out to vote. That's why Bush is throwing such red meat. They are in a frenzy and will turn out in droves. We have to get back the "anger of the primaries" before we put just a few too many Dems either to sleep or disgusted. It's a battle of the bases.

11. My prediction:
The fact is, Bush's bounce will evaporate when we hit that 1000th GI. It's tragic, but it's probably true. The media will trumpet this event (if they have any sense of fairness left in them), and people will place the blame for going to war squarely on the Chimp-in-Chief.

Other items bringing Bush down:
the Dow still refusing to move much past where it's been for the past 1.5 years,
the 60 minutes TANG story,
Fahrenheit 9/11,
and (possibly) the debates.

Summary? The landscape still has a good number of obstacles in the way for the Chimp.

14. I think you're right
The bad news from Iraq has taken a back seat in the news. A milestone like the 1000th death or something revealing about Abu Ghraib (sp?) will make the top news stories.

16. Hmmm..
My prediction is that his lead will evaporte when we get 1000 GIs and then it'll even out until Nov. 2.

12. he said the bounce is short term--race is still Kerry's to lose
This Zogby really seems to know his business. It really all comes down to turnout. And we liberals are really far more worked up about this election than is the right.

13. Zogby does know his stuff
I tend to trust the polls just done by places like ARG or Zogby, rather than stuff done by time magazine, or ABC. THey seem to have some sort of motive to stir up public opinion, or create a frenzy among one group of voters over another.
