Can someone explain the FEC Filings

Ok. So Obama had 65mil, got 67 mil, used 55 mil and ended with 77 mil. Makes sense so far.

But he got 12 of the reciepts from "other authorized committies". What does that mean?


Then McCain. He now has 2 Campaigns? How does that work?

He started with 21 mil, got 53 mil, used 47 mil and ended with 27 mil.

But he also got 4 mil from "authorized comities". And 5 mil from "dividends and interest"? What the hell investment was paying off at that rate in September?
I was under the impression that he wasn't allowed to fundraise after the convention, and accepting public financing? how is he still taking in contributions?


I suppose thats where the new "McCain Palin" one comes in. 10 mil in loans, no contributions. Paid out 5 mil, repaid 4 mil in loans, 1 mil on hand.

But if they moved to the new campaign, how is the old McCain one still running, spending 47 million?

2. I was hoping for a little more

What I read is that Obama has 77 million going into october.

But, the other side, if I read it correctly, is that McCain has 85 million(public funds)-10 million spent=75 million in one campaign, and still retains 27 million in the other campaign. That would be 101 million. Tell me I am wrong, and explain why?
