So who thinks Obama is going to whip what's his names A$$
at the debate.

obama strikes me as the type of person that would take a comment like that and it make him work 10 times harder.

I think McCain made a big mistake saying something like that, Obama is competitive.

This next debate should be fun

Wanna guess who's going to defeat you in the debate, McCain?
You might never know - That one.

2. Me.
I think the McCain's version of 'kicking Obama in the you know what" means he'll come out nasty and swinging. And I think that will make him look even worse. I can hardly wait.

I don't think he'll bring up any racial/religious points because of the recent neg publicity his campaign has received as a result of that approach.

8. Agreed
He'll let Faux and Friends spin the debate his way. Conservatives I talk to are saying it is Obama who is "playing dirty"! They are even saying the "Kill him" chants at crowds are left wing plants! Trouble for McCain is that these are the die-hards who would vote for him anyway. The swing voters are watching--and they aren't liking McCain because he's not really saying anything of substance. Obama has done a much better job--and has stayed cool and calm and acted Presidential.

9. Yeah, the debate won't change anybody's mind who is already supporting
someone. We'll think Obama is perfect, they'll think McCain is.

But you're spot on about the undecideds -- just their gut feeling reaction might be what pushes them one way or the other. And on that level, I really feel McCain is alienating, where, as you say, Obama is cool, calm, Presidential, and comforting!

10. yeah I think it's actually the wrong route for McCain I was saying
that to a McCain supporter. Here's Obama on one side, smooth, handsome, nice, and smiling

And McCain on the other side, ugly, decrepit, scary weird smile etc

When McCain goes negative it actually makes him look worse. And people don't respond well to it.

If he is going negative than that means he has given up on undecideds and is just trying to rev up his base.

Which you shouldn't have to do this late in the game.

3. I have no doubt that Obama will win the debate again.
McCain lost in 2 much more favorable formats. But there will be no aggressive Obama, who comes out swinging. He will stay calm, counter-punch hard if necessary and win big on the issues.

5. As my mom says,
"McCain just rants on and on but says nothing of substance. He says all this stuff about Obama--and then when Obama opens his mouth, it is obvious that McCain is lying and delusional!" Brainwashing doesn't work with my mom.
