9. more likely jeffersonian democracy
where the farmer and shopkeeper were enfranchised and held the society together.

of course, i doubt the gop will be referring to it thusly as jeffersonian democracy.

2. Every time I hear it, I want to scream
Bush would love to have a government that has nothing in it but a huge military run by Halliburton and funded by the poor and middle class.

all those Indians and Taiwanese and Chinese who've got all the jobs we used to have that provided that kind of tax revenue, he'll be set!

10. isn't that spelled FASCISM?
his message was so poignantly clear as to where he wants to take the U.S.A. ... actually, it was more like the uncovering of the path that he has already lead us down on... he just unveiled it and made clearer what is true and original name is. FASCISM.

12. One day, Bush* talks about "ownership," the next day,

they quietly release an announcement that Medicare premiums are going to go up a lot.

Senior citizens are not going to take kindly to having to "own" more of their Medicare.

Baby boomers need to realize that these RWers will screw us out of our Social Security and Medicare if they can, and forget getting back the money we put in, Halliburton et al. got that.

Younger voters need to realize that not only might they be drafted to fight in Iraq, their kids might be drafted twenty years from now to fight in Iraq. (Oh, yeah, forget Medicare & Social Security, save up from your paycheck for your retrement. What? Your paycheck is now divided between six guys in New Delhi. Too bad for you -- isn't McDonald's hiring?)
