Anybody notice the cheers when ever war was mentioned at the convention?
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 10:14 AM by kohodog
I found it chilling that there was such a big response whenever Bush (and some of the others) talked about war as the correct solution to ending terrorism.

It really seems like prewar Germany. The pre-emptive protest arrests, the close minded groupthink, adherence to talking points, vitriol towards anyone who disagrees. It seems like there are pissed that the democrats would even have a candidate to run against godbush. How unamerican and unpatriotic.

I find it creepy.

4. I does seem these folks
love death and destruction, especially when they can reign it down on poor brown people. Then they get really excited.

Pretty much the same as you saw last Thursday night. Everyone knows when to sing, when to kneel, when to say "Hallelujah."

MSG last Thursday night, same thing. Only this time it was for war. Take a look at the Book of Daniel (11:20):

". . . .In his place shall arise a contemptible person to whom royal majesty has not been given; he shall come in without warning and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Wihtout warning he shall come into the richest parts of the province, and he shall do what neither his fathers nor his fathers' fathers have done, scattering among them plunder, spoil and goods. He shall devise plans against strongholds, but only for a time. And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall wage with an exceedingly great and mighty army, but he shall not stand, for plots shall be devised against him."

Findies LOVE war, real Old Testament burning, raping and pillaging. This is their big moment.

Your thoughts?

8. Thankfully, no
There have been many despots over the centuries. We seem to be living with another one who happens to have more destructive power at his hands than any other in history.

Fortunately it's not to late to stop it, but if we lose this election I think we are in serious trouble. Our freedoms are hanging on by a thread as it is.

10. Agreed, but at least we'll "be going backwards less quickly"
And that is important. If Bush and cronies control both houses AND the Supreme Court we're screwed.

14. exactly. I fear the draft is coming no matter who is president.
I guess that will be when I part ways with DEMS if they idly sit by if/when the draft occurs just because we have a DEM president.

15. They're war mongers.
It's that simple. They're not happy unless they're blowing somebody away or getting ready to. It's a helluva lot easier and more permanent than arguing across the table from somebody who is using big words.
