Nov 2 Critical! - January 20 just as critical
We must win on Nov 2 and there must be a sea change on Nov 3 no matter the outcome.

Should JFK prevail; then on Jan 20 the interests of the majority should be served. We can not be content to have won without getting true and substantive reform from these past thirty years of corporate control and the denigration of the great American dream.

Should * be handed another stolen term then we must redouble our struggle by peaceful means to stop the corruption of our country. Our future and the future of our children and their children is being threatened by a total disregard for justice.

The current oligarchy utilizes very sophisticated manipulation of the masses as well as blatant disregard for ethic's, law enforcement, and truth. That being said though I would postulate that we are cognisant of these fact's yet we are seemingly powerless to effect positive change.

Therefore with these conditions being known I can't help but to begin to think of radical change as being our only recource. Perhap's a national recall amendment, whereby the people can bypass the corporate firewall of paid off politico's and by way of a 2/3's majority effect an immediate change of government.

1. that's why I don't think this election is that crucial
there won't be a paradigm shift either way. If Kerry wins (remote now, it seems), he will be assaulted 24/7 by Rove, Delay, Frist, MSRNC, CNN, Faux News, etc., and not much will get done anyway. The RW congerss won't confirm his judicial appt's, and the news will be flooded about imaginary love affairs, travel office firings, murders, whathaveyou. We will still be under the thumb of the jackboot wingers.

If * wins (one way or another), the war will continue (probably escalate and expand), the country will go broke (right now the revenue won't even cover the iraq tab), unemployment will shoot up again, and we will finally reach the critical mass where we actually take to the streets and get the country back. All of this will happend within a couple years, and we can then get back to rebuilding a nation on the most bountiful tract of land in history.

2. I tend to agree with your greater assesment, however.....
I do believe that Kerry will prevail in a "fair" election. But being a cynic where the rethugs are concerned I do believe that * will be handed another ill gotten term.
