The media is acting as the unfair parent who has a favorite child
Kerry is the redheaded stepchild here when Bush is the problem kid who needs encouragement every time he makes a mistake (which is often).

How can Kerry win this election when he gets pounded, almost every day, by Bush and by his free PR from our news networks?

Look at what happened from the DNC until now:

- In the month of August, the media gave the swift boat veterans free advertisement space by playing those ads over and over
- The TV media reported whatever the swift boat veterans said as facts and never bothered to check the facts. For example, besides all the inconsistent accusations from the first ad, I was only able to see that the accusations in the second Swift Boat Veterans ad were false only when I watched Kerry’s 1971 testimony on C-SPAN. People who didn’t get to see the testimony will (or still) think that Kerry was selling out Vietnam veterans when in fact he was defending vets who were being short-changed and Kerry was accusing the leadership who were at fault. The media kept echoing that it was fair game to criticize Kerry for selling out veterans.
- Last week when Kerry was ahead in MOST of the polls the only ones reported were the couple that Bush was ahead by a couple of points.
- The Time poll is the only poll used to measure Bush’s “big” bump after the RNC when the Gallup poll was the only measure to show Kerry’s bump (or lack of a bump) after the DNC.
- The times when Republicans distort the truth to unfairly label Kerry a flip-flopper, whatever the Republicans say is always used in the headlines and when Bush flip-flops or “misspeaks” (i.e., whenever Bush changes his mind on whether we can win the war on terrorism or whether global warming is fact or fiction) the media usually let it slide.
- Conservatives were all over the networks during the RNC to trash the speeches by Democrats and when came time for the RNC conservatives were invited again and they were cheering the Republicans as brilliant and declaring a winner.
- During the RNC Republicans ripped Kerry a new one most of the time with distortions and lies while refusing to talk about Bush’s accomplishments. That was never questioned by the media and the media never bothered to check the facts.
- During the RNC the media failed to report much on the fact that we had the biggest protest during a convention in history. The media reported that only tens of thousands went to the streets and many reports tried to make protesters as anti-American anarchists.
- The RNC is a success not because of the themes, format or the speeches. The RNC is a success because the media hypes it as a success.

I’m telling you, this is so fucking frustrating! Whatever Kerry attempts to do it is going to have a negative spin in the news. If he attacks Bush he is too negative or if Kerry tries to give a positive message he is considered weak. If Kerry tries to defend his record he is either “whining too much” or “losing his cool”.

What kills me most about the RNC coverage is that the media let Bush get away with using 9/11 for political gain! Are we Democrats the only people who can see the fact that the only Americans who benefited from 9/11 were Bush and the Republicans?

Liberal media MY ASS!!!

4. I think there is a pity/sympathy factor going on too....
For some reason Bush brings out the misguided maternal/paternal
instinct in a lot of people. They feel sorry for him. Or they identify
with him because they are screw-ups too.

I don't get it. Personally, I'd like a smart, competent person to be
the President of my country!

7. The Media is the enemy of Democrats. It is critical to remember that.

Liberal victory requires defeating the NeoCon owned "mainstream" News Media.
