<Steve Noble, 44, of Mansfield asked Kerry to bring the troops in Iraq home.

Many union members, including Curt Henderson, 62, a 30-year-employee of GM, asked Kerry to aid U.S. troops fighting the war against terror.

Hans Lang, 40, of Mansfield said he was thrilled with the visit.

"I'll support him," he said. "He's my man."

Lang said he likes the way Kerry relates to workers, but has other concerns.

"I was concerned about how he felt about the marriage act," Lang said. "I want to preserve the present ideal that a marriage is between a man and a woman."

Jude Bush, 48, a UAW member for 25 years, and a Kerry supporter, said she supports Kerry because he is for the working man.

"We need help with health and safety and help with stopping jobs from being sent overseas," she said. >
