Remember, the South is included in national polls
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 01:55 PM by JPJones
If you think that GWB and the SBV are telling the truth, you
might be a redneck.

Wash Post 8/30/04

John Kerry was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and
three Purple Hearts for his military service in Vietnam. Given
what you know, do you think Kerry did or did not legitimately
earn these military decorations? (registered voters)

 	East	Midwest	South	West	All
Did	68% 63% 53% 65% 60%
Did not	18% 20% 30% 18% 23%
No op.	14% 17% 17% 17% 17%

1. So?
We would be part of the "nation", right?

3. barely
one could say the south itself is "out of the mainstream" of America, at least judging by those numbers.

5. But their electoral votes are already going to B*
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 02:34 PM by JPJones
If the percent of B* voters goes up in the south and doesn't
change elsewhere, then the national poll doesn't reflect the
electoral college.

So, a bunch of crackers watch the RNC on Fox and believe the
filth in the hatefest, and you've got an apparent bounce.

How closely are you following the 2004 presidential race: very
closely, somewhat closely, not too closely, or not closely at
all? 8/30/04
 	       East	Midwest	South	West	All
Very closely	41% 41% 47% 39% 43%
Somewhat close 41% 38% 35% 38% 38%
Not too closely	14% 14% 11% 13% 13%
Not at all	3% 6% 7% 10% 7%
DK/No opinion	0% 0% 0% 0% 0%

"Fox News Channel averaged 7.3 million viewers between 10
and 11pm Thursday, early ratings data demonstrates. CNN
averaged 2.65 million and MSNBC averaged 1.7 million during
the hour.
The fast national numbers for the networks show that Fox beat
the networks again last night. This data is not final, but CBS
averaged 6.2 million, NBC had 5.6 million, and ABC had 4.7
million. Final #'s will be available later today..."

8. Ok, then
remember that NY and CA are included in the national polls too.

If Kerry goes up there it won'y help him win either.

There really is no spin that makes the recent polls look good. Doesn't mean we lose, just means it's going to be harder.

2. Anybody who tends to let polls stampede them into a panic...
should read the LTTE in today's Billings Gazette. Billings is not known as a hotbed of liberalism, but check it out. Bookmark this for those days when the heebie-geebies threaten to overcome you all about the outcome of this election.

Billings Gazette LTTE

<snip>There are 10 questions I need answered before voting again for President Bush.

1. Can he admit a mistake? They are hard to correct when not admitted.

2. What about the balanced budget amendment?

3. Is he going to continue to grow the federal government?

4. Did Iraq have supplies for a nuclear arsenal?

5. Why is gasoline so expensive when we have access to Iraq's oil?

6. Is the war on terrorism under the rules of the Geneva Convention?

7. Will there be accountability for all voters' ballots in the next election?

8. How can we continue to cut taxes when our deficit is so large?

9. President Truman said, "The buck stops here." Will he take responsibility?

10. Why did it take so long to scramble our jet fighters on 9/11?
</userdefined>

This letter is followed by one supporting Kerry's service in the Navy and the next letter is a rant against Vets care getting short changed.

The tide has changed in the west and now I see why Cheney is trying to convince westerners that Kerry doesn't understand. The West has bushco* pegged pretty well from the talk I hear.

4. rednecks
Rednecks don't just come from the South. Southerners come from the South, rednecks come from the country.

7. And the South's electoral votes do count,
just like everyone else's, so it's hard to see what your point here might be.

Reminds me of the Republican fondness for pointing out that Democrats would never win without black votes. It's true, but irrelevant in the real world, and reveals much more about the person making the statement than it does about political realities.

9. Those electoral votes are already in B* column
Whether he wins the Southern states 90-10 or 51-49, it's already tabulated.

Strange analogy there. I feel so sorry for the persecuted southerners. They never did anything to anybody, and here I am attacking their heritage.
