The best thing the Kerry Campaign could do
would be to get all of the posters on DU on the phones, at the doors, at local events and locations actively registering new voters, IDing voters, writing letters to the editor, calling local talk radio shows, posting to local discussion boards, bringing a friend or two into the campaign.

This fantasy that the election is apart from us and something we have no control over is a lot of bunk.

Kerry ought to write the "Kerry ought to do" posters back and tell them they ought to get actively involved in the campaign by calling their local Democratic headquarters and volunteering to do the real necessary work to make this campaign victorious.

1. I'm a registered Democrat in a highly concentrated
Republican area. However, our numbers are rising! :) One thing that irks me though, I haven't received ONE single solitary piece of paper, postcard, postage stamp, phone call, NOTHING! I know Bush is doing a mass direct mailing to registered Republicans. :wtf:

Yesterday, I went to a city festival. The Republican and Democratic booths were essentially side by side as they always are. The Republicans had games going, handing out buttons and stickers, balloons for the kids left and right. The Democrats were staffed by two people, timidly trying to hand out some cheapo cardboard donkey on a a stick saying "Democrats are COOL" (which I was glad to have :) ), had brochures on Obama and two other local candidates. When I asked about a Kerry/Edwards button or bumper sticker, they tell me they (meaning the Kerry campaign) didn't get them in to them yet.

I just recently joined the local Dem chapter and wasn't able to go to the monthly meeting last month. So, I don't know whether it's the fault of the local Dems or the Kerry campaign. But damn! I'm frustrated!

You're right about us being the force behind the man though. I've signed up to canvass, call, be an election judge, etc. I told them what ever they want! Whatever they need! (except money of course, I'm not working at the moment and all I can afford to give is my time).
