4. Well,
He's not gonna win by 11, but if you don't think there's a possibility that he could be reelected (in a theft, more than likely) you're simply not paying attention.

He's got a very good point. I worry about the same thing myself.

I say revolution. Or at least....impeachment. He can't last forever.

actions for once in his life...that will be the only satisfaction I will get..he will be impeached, or imprisoned for war crimes.

Get real, if bush wins the election, he will still have both houses. Only a miracle will keep him from making the courts Repuke too.

Judging by what I have read on here since the RNC, two things:

1) Bitch, cry and moan on Democratic Underground and not actually do a damn thing to take back our country.

2) see above.

30. The problem is, we are divided between Leftists...
...of varied special intrests; and Centrists who do not want to see the Democratic Party swing further to the Left. I include myself in the latter group.

The Democratic Party needs to either become more Centrist and less extreme, or become the larger platform for the Greens and other Socialist parties. Either way, they risk alienating a large voting bloc.

There are no easy answers on this one. The only uniter the Democratic Party seems to have now is its hatred of GWB, but for some of us, that isn't enough.

35. I get where yo uare coming from
I am not all that far left myself. I see that problem. But I also see a more immediate problem: the Dem leaders don't stand up strongly for what they purport to stand for.

I have never concerned myself with platform fights or minor position details (as repubs do). But whatever we stand for, we should hold fast to it. Right now I see more pragmatism than I would prefer. And I don't think its all that productive.

Conservatives have no problem saying they are conservative. Its time liberals learned to say the word liberal, and make it a positive point in their campaigns.

37. I agree.
I am just tired the perpetual dichotomy between the Republican candidate and whoever runs against them on the Democratic side.

We need not disagree with them on every single issue as a matter of rote. It just seems to me that we are always trying to defend an extremist position... perhaps we need to frame our position in a more centrist/moderate way. We, as Democrats have done a good job in that sense regarding the choice issue, IMHO. It is the Republican Party that must defend the extremist position. They end up looking like zealots.

Another problem is that we are trying to be all things to all people who have a disagreement with the Republican Party. It makes us (to our credit) a pretty diverse group, but then we have internal divisions between competing groups within our own party. And we do this in the interest of bolstering our numbers. We then have to submit to the whims of each special interest, and soon everyone is pissing in everyone elses soup. The Centrists stomp off in a huff and votes for the Republican, or the Liberal stomps off and votes for the Greens.

Maybe its best if the Party just admits it can't be all things to all (non-Conservative) people and either decides to go with a Centrist message, or a Leftist message.

IMHO.

27. Oh gawd, you folks make me ill
Ive said it over and over. This country's been took. There is no turning back. If we dont win this one. It's over folks. There will undoubtidly have to be another revolution. But that wont happen because everyone will continue to live on false hope that there will be another chance in 2008 and "work their butts off". You'll be working for nothing folks. It's either bend over and take it or start a revolution.

16. Continue to build the Left....
You have to admit that George Bush has been REALLY good for the left. We're starting to see left-wing media outlets emerge and our organization is getting bigger.

But he has really sucked for America, and I hope that we can be rid of him.

19. $100 to the ACLU immediately!!!
I have promised that if Bush wins, I will immediately give $100 to the ACLU and start a monthly contribution to People For the American Way. I would like to give them both $100 at a time, but I don't make much money, so this is how I'll manage it. I'm making a call right now for all DUers to aggressively donate to and support these civil liberties groups if Bush wins with the same intensity that we support our candidates now. Believe me, the right wing HATES these groups. They FEAR these groups. Just imagine the statement it will make to America if a Bush victory leads to a big jump in funding and membership in the civil liberties groups. I have donated to these groups anyway, but if Bush wins, it's time to get hardcore!

20. I doubt that will happen, but
it reminds me of a saying my dad always said when things got tough, " just bend over and kiss your a** goodbye." He always made me laugh when he said that. I always felt better then. I suppose if * would make it we'll all have to do that.

22. Get the Senate
Seriously, even if we can't get Kerry elected, we NEED to get the Senate, which we can use as an effective tool to forestall Bush's agenda and keep him from nominating ideologues to the Supreme Court, which is critical.

And, work our asses off, for the '06 midterms and begin organizing immediately to build the grassroots, formulate an agenda that is clear, progressive, yet appealing to the majority of Americans, and offer it as the alternative to the Republican vision of crony capitalism, and if we stay on our toes and fight like hell, certainly we can win in '08 when I predict that even with a Bush victory, the GOP will be in intraparty warfare in '08 and Bushco's popularity will be in the 20-30% percentile as a result of ballooning deficits, a failed Iraq, a stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process, terrorism, massive inflation, and economic decline. It's not a pretty vision, but if we stay vigilant, we can milk it for what it's worth.

And yeah, let's keep the pressure up to get investigations launched into EVERYTHING, impeachment's certainly a possibility.

But even so, let's first focus on the job at hand: getting John Kerry elected president on Nov. 2.

Has anyone looked at emigration figures during the Bush years? How many ex-patriates has he created? That will be a telling figure, because folks will figure it is so bad, they will have to leave. What they heck-might as well follow their jobs, huh?
