It's time to get tough and get negative
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 10:46 PM by Ruffhowse
Kerry needs to get harsh as hell with Bush to counterattack all the smearing going on from the Bush camp. The immediate lesson to be learned from the past month of negative campaigning from the Repugs is that, unfortunately, at this time in history, IT WORKS. It's what works right now, for whatever reason. And we have to respond in kind. We have to get tough and GET NEGATIVE, because this year, the high road is the road for losers. And the one issue that we need to slam home against Bush is that he is a LIAR!!!! No sentence should be uttered with Bush in it that doesn't also have the word LIAR in it. We need to make people see the LIAR that Bush is. We need to smear him with the word until it sticks, much as they have done with the word flip-flop for Kerry. No more of this wimpy "Misleader" crap. That isn't harsh enough. All "Misleader" ads should be pulled, and replaced with LIAR ads. I know this may sound too harsh to some folks, but we have no choice if we expect to beat the Bush smear machine. I just hope Kerry realizes this and goes on the offensive continuously until the election. This isn't going to be an issues campaign, the Repugs have defined it as a smearfest based on character issues, and who can be more macho about defense and terrorism. This year people aren't going to be persuaded by nuanced policy points, they want red meat. The Dems just gotta suck it up and give it to 'em.

1. Kerry needs to start calling Bush a
liar. He needs to start talking about all the dirt that Washington knows about him and the nuts around him. He has to start saying that Bush wants to turn this country into a theocracy.

2. "misleader"
and EVERY DEM needs to be on message, we need to brand Bush a misleader or SOMETHING over the next month. Just like they branded Kerry a flip flopper.

3. But isn't "flip-flopper" just a more subtle way of saying "liar" ?
And more acceptable to the voters. "Liar" is so up front...:)

4. I don't think you can equate the two. Flip Flopper has connotations

of being indecisive, and not knowing what you really stand for. Liar is harsh, I agree, but we need to up the ante on this and really hit it home with tough talk. Now is not the time for nuanced wimpy buzzwords, we gotta go for the jugular and latch on until the prey stops kicking. The voting public has shown that that is what it wants this year, anything less is too wimpy to be the leader against terrorism.
