Straight Talk Express VIDEO: McCain side-steps Couric's question on "infidelity"

Katie Couric asked each candidate why they think so many prominent political figures risk so much with marital infidelity.

Obama said in part:

I have no idea. The more I'm in public I don't even want to pick my nose... I'll leave that to the psychologists... I want to make sure that people, that, that there is no gap between who I am and the face that I'm presenting in the world. You want people to know that what you say is what you mean.

McCain hedged and wouldn't address the question, so Couric followed up a second time. He said in part:

"I don't know and I don't understand people's personal lives... I'm really not running to president to address ... I really don't make any comments about that... I want to be a good president and try to lead an honorable life... I've been an imperfect servant so I'm not judging."

1. Translated From McCain-ish To English, Sir:" I Have Had More Than One But Less Than Four"
"It's the thrill of defying the odds that I might get caught: it's even better than craps at three A.M. with a thousand bucks riding on making a six!"

4. John "Honorable" McCain (from Rolling Stone's "Make Believe Maverick")

On the grounds between the two brick colleges, the chitchat between the scion of four-star admirals and the son of a prizefighter turns to their academic travels; both colleges sponsor a trip abroad for young officers to network with military and political leaders in a distant corner of the globe.

"I'm going to the Middle East," Dramesi says. "Turkey, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iran."

"Why are you going to the Middle East?" McCain asks, dismissively.

"It's a place we're probably going to have some problems," Dramesi says.

"Why? Where are you going to, John?"

"Oh, I'm going to Rio."

"What the hell are you going to Rio for?"

McCain, a married father of three, shrugs.

"I got a better chance of getting laid."

Dramesi, who went on to serve as chief war planner for U.S. Air Forces in Europe and commander of a wing of the Strategic Air Command, was not surprised. "McCain says his life changed while he was in Vietnam, and he is now a different man," Dramesi says today. "But he's still the undisciplined, spoiled brat that he was when he went in."

2. A typical goofy Katie "Gotcha" question
Actually, a ridiculous question for a president to have to answer. We get our information from watching him/her real time and looking at their histories. Inane query.
