Has anyone seen Kerry ads yet?

1. Saw one sponsored by the DNC here in Arkansas Thursday

night on CBS. I don't watch television much and just happened to see it while visiting my granny.

8. About Kerry?

My granny is a long-standing Democrat and despises GWBush as much as I do. She canceled her AARP membership over the prescription drug thing and told them in no uncertain terms that it was b/c they stuck their nose in where it didn't belong and supported that crap.

My granny's 78, btw. And, my mom was an only child. My mom died in 1999. There are three of us grandchildren but I am the only one who makes it a point to visit on a regular basis. When I don't have time to visit, I call - or, sometimes, she calls.

She was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago with pnuemonia. So, she has quit smoking. Isn't that funny?

I haven't talked to her today after seeing the news on the Medicare increase. She'll be livid about that one too.

She hasn't said much about how enthusiastically she supports Kerry. But, she says positive things about him. Her friend came over to watch his speech during the convention. They said it was very good.

Some other things she mentions is that she's afraid of the rigged voting. She says we will definitely have another great depression if shrub get reelected.

All my granmas are gone, but they were smart and tough and would have thought very little of king george.

My great grandma came to California from Arkansas in 1915. She was the coolest! She could beat anybody at poker. Never left the house without a hat, gloves, nylons and heels, but she kept a loaded shotgun at the door.
She would shoot it over the heads of the people who came knocking trying to 'save' her ; "I'm not buying and G*ddamn religion!"
She was a one of a kind...not that I'm advocating that but she was really something.

I get so aggravated at my brother and sister b/c they don't see the chance that they are losing. Granted, my granny is very outspoken and doesn't hesitate to speak her mind. Yes, she has certainly offended me and mine a few times. But, dammit, she's my granny and she's 78 AND I love her. She has definitely earned the right to be grouchy and outspoken now and then.

She didn't care for my brother's ex and didn't bother to hide her dislike. Even though he's not married to her any more and now has a new one, he won't go see grandma.

My sister was closer to her than I was before my mom's death. I don't know why she pulled away. Grandma said some mean things when she brought her fourth hubby over - she said "Well, I'm not gonna like him until he's been around for a couple of years." Then, she had a big fit when my sister went to Michigan to visit someone she talked to on the internet. She thought it was dangerous. But, still, I don't think that's why she stopped visiting. I think it's because our mom's death affected her so deeply that she's afraid to keep being close to grandma - and especially b/c of her age. She even said something to me once about "grandma's getting old and fixing to start going down hill".

My sister's gotten a little better this year - so, I think, some of it may have been just extreme depression too. But, still, I wish both of them would take advantage of the knowledge and experience she has.

I'd say they are about even ad for ad here in WI. right now.

5. very few, I live in Northern NJ

about 30 minutes West of NYC and that huge media market pretty much dominates us. Once in a while I'll see a kerry ad on CNN or CNBC, usually the one with the empty factories with Bush's voice echoing he empty promises of prosperity and job creation.
