And I live in the far North dallas area. Bush country.

4 years ago about this time, Bush Cheney bumper stickers were omnipresent in this area.

3. Cool! I see dozens of Kerry stickers whenever I'm on the road...
and in Portland neighborhood, the yardsign average is 3 Kerry signs per block. I haven't seen any Bush signs, and only as many stickers as I can count on one hand.

5. I saw 3 Kerry-Edwards stickers in Houston yesterday.
Occasionally, I see of cars with those red, white & blue "W"s, but full-blown Bush-Cheney bumper stickers, I haven't seen one.

Ten or more of the yellow "Support Our Troops" stickers.

8. I saw one Bush/Cheney yesterday.
I really just started looking for stickers last night. I've been pleasantly surprised at how few I've seen (one so far, but a couple of pro-life stickers).

I wonder if Rove's strategy of appealing to the base is in part due to internal polling which shows that Republicans aren't as motivated this time around?

13. I haven't been looking for them for very long, either
Just about two weeks or so, since I got my own stickers, a Kerry/Edwards and a couple of others that I like to mix and match with the K/E sticker (they're all magnetic, since I just can't risk vandalism of my leased car when it's parked). One says "We Have Nothing to Fear but BUSH Himself," and the other is the "No Carb Diet for 2004." I think the "Nothing to Fear" sticker has drawn a couple of honks of support--or anger, not sure which!

So far I think the B/C stickers have a slight edge, overall--but I really don't see any political stickers here at all, for the most part, except more and more of those yellow ribbons. And the usual religious stuff (license plates on an Expedition yesterday: Do U Pra).

I think you're right that they aren't as motivated--I also remember seeing tons more Bush/Cheneys back in 2000.

12. I got one of those "Support Our Troops" magnets
that looks like a ribbon. Aside from the fact that I do, in fact, support the troops (for example, by suggesting that we shouldn't send them off to fight unnecessary wars), I'm also trying to mess up freepers' heads. WTF? A Kerry sticker, a flag and a SUpport Our Troops magnet??? But... but... Democrats are traitors who hate our troops! I don't get it! My head... my head...! The only problem with the thing is that I drive a Saturn which is made mostly of plastic and the magnet doesn't stick except for on top of the trunk.

I wish I could find one of those yellow stickers that said "Support our Troops--Bring Them Home."

10. Yeah. So what!
I live in Alabama -- as red as it gets.

I saw one Kerry sticker today and no Bush stickers.

I guess that means Kerry will carry Alabama.

Woo hoo!!!!!

20. Wow.
I'm not sure why I'm defending my thread to you, but can you show me where I said I thought Bush would Kerry Texas? That's just stupid.

Sure, this is anecdotal. Things could also change over the next few weeks. My simple point is that I have been surprised by the lack of people advertising for Bush/Cheney in my area as compared to four years ago. It is a marked difference.

11. Kerry signs out number Bush's by a landside in my neighborhood
But I live in a blue state, Washington. What I did find interesting was the number of Kerry/Edwards signs I saw last week in rural eastern Washington which is usually Repub country. My sister who lives there says many people are pissed off at Bush.

19. Good!
I hope my ex relatives born again as Republican gun lovers, "I got mine, shut the gate behind me" types who moved to NE Washington state (very close to northern Idaho and Canadian border - gee, I wonder why) are seeing plenty of Kerry/Edwards signs too. Unlike Zell Miller, (why can't we kick him out of the party - he certainly doesn't belong), they at least admit to their "conversion."
