Because I don't get this way very often. In fact I'm an extremely peaceful person. I'm an extremely understanding and open-minded person, one who always tries to see my opponents point of view and understand where they're coming from.
But when you attack children I get upset. In fact I get really, really ,really really upset. I get so angry I'm ready to punch the living day lights out of....aaahhhhh... you get the point!!

And it's during the high anger moments when I also get really impatient with other bastards. Bastards like the fucking "Veterans for Truth," the slimy, vicious, lying Bush smear campaign and their impish, cowardly attempts to discredit an American hero.

Because I live on a college campus in a contested state. And because my passion for John Kerry's campaign has multiplied 20 fold. Russia invaded Chechnya several years ago (in large part to build a natural gas pipeline), and they have killed TENS OF THOUSANDS of Chechen women and children. Russia does not need to "fight terrorists" (they've been doing that for years); they need to get the hell out of there.

As an American I sympathize with people working for national independence. As for the current situation and history involving Russia/ Chechnya I am not as up-to-date as I should be.

In my post I was simply empahsizing my anger with terrorists (whether Chechnyan, Arab, etc.) who would target children, and how I've resolved to release my anger on Bush's administration.

Once again, I concede that I am not an expert on Chechnyan/ Russian relations and am in no way ready to defend/condemn either party.

Yet, we must be careful. Senseless violence is sensless violence. I believe when you use terrorism you forfeit your right to sympathy for your cause. If the terrorists were Chechnyan fighting FOR Chechnya, they just hurt Chechnya grievously. The world will not sympathize with anyone who uses children as human shields. The same goes for Palestine.

Of course the school tragedy was a horrible atrocity. But this has been going on for years and the Chechen "rebels" really don't give a shit about "playing fair," having seen tens of thousands of their own children murdered by Russia. So obviously killing children is horrendous. And I see what your saying about how the Chechans might be feeling apathetic about dead Russian children. Yet I will always loose sympathy for anyone using violence against children, or any innocent civilian for that matter. I mean, come'on, do the Chechans really think terrorizing a school will turn Russians AGAINST Putin? Will blowing up buses turn Israelis AGAINST Sharon? It's like how America ran to Daddy (GB) after 9/11, his job approval sky-rocketed.

Bah. It's such a complicated issue. They all are. Israel/Palestine, Russia/Chechnya, Pakistan/India w/ Kashmir...

Bottom Line: When you don't have an organized army or national soveriegnty you need allies in a war for national independence, and when terrorists use violence they give legitimate causes bad reputations, thus alienating would-be allies and prolonging suffering...
